Job description

Position Overview

Mountain Springs Wellness & Counseling Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our team in a full-time remote position. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive mental health counseling and support to individuals, empowering them to enhance their emotional and psychological well-being through evidence-based therapeutic practices.

Located in Sugar Land, Texas, Mountain Springs Wellness & Counseling Services is a multi-dimensional healthcare facility that provides a range of services beyond counseling, including obstetrics, pediatrics, general medicine, family planning, and dentistry. Work Environment

This position is primarily remote, however, counselors will occasionally work from our outpatient office to collaborate with our diverse team of healthcare professionals. The flexibility of remote work allows you to maintain a healthy work-life balance while providing vital services to our patients. Our clinic values teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration, with regular meetings to discuss patient progress and share insights on best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist primary care providers in identifying, treating, and managing mental health and psychosocial issues, contributing to an integrated care approach.
  • Conduct thorough patient intakes, focusing on diagnostic assessments, functional evaluations, and individualized treatment recommendations.
  • Provide brief, focused psychological interventions tailored to the needs of patients seeking mental health support.
  • Advise healthcare providers on the suitability of continuing treatment in a primary care setting or referring patients to specialized mental health providers as necessary.
  • Initiate follow-up outreach to monitor patient progress, adapting treatment plans as required to facilitate optimal outcomes.
  • Develop personalized relapse prevention strategies to help patients maintain stability and successfully navigate their mental health challenges.
  • Identify at-risk patients and coordinate preventive interventions aimed at improving long-term well-being.
  • Monitor and manage the delivery of behavioral health services, ensuring continuity and coordination of care across different service providers.
  • Document all patient assessments, treatment plans, and outcomes comprehensively to maintain clear communication with healthcare team members.
  • Educate patients on self-management skills, empowering them to engage actively in their treatment process and promote healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Consult with clinic management and multidisciplinary teams on behavioral health services and improvements to program effectiveness.
  • Support patients in navigating any medical treatments prescribed by primary care providers, including helping them cope with any side effects.
  • Maintain compliance with all ethical and professional standards set forth in the Code of Ethical Conduct for Clinical Professionals. Carry out any additional responsibilities as assigned.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As an LPC within our organization, you will work with a diverse patient population, including adults, children, and families facing a broad spectrum of emotional and psychological challenges. Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Current, active LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) license in the state of Texas.
  • Robust knowledge of mental health assessments, treatment modalities, developmental psychopathology, and therapeutic techniques.
  • Proficiency in developing effective treatment plans based on individual patient assessments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to foster collaborative relationships with patients, families, and a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to ethical practice and continuous professional development.
Preferred Experience
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is desirable, enhancing communication with our diverse patient demographic.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary primary care environment or Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote counseling techniques.
Compensation and Benefits

Compensation for this role ranges from USD 87,000 to 105,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
