Most medical writers specialize in a particular type of content, such as writing research proposals or filling out paperwork for regulatory submissions. Although this is a remote position, companies tend to prefer applicants who are located in the same part of the country to make it easier to coordinate schedules and answer questions as needed.

Are medical writers going to be replaced by AI?

Medical writers play a crucial role in creating accurate, compliant, and clear medical content, which requires critical thinking, subject expertise, and understanding of regulatory standards. While AI tools can assist with data analysis and drafting, they currently cannot fully replace the nuanced judgment and expertise of professional medical writers. Therefore, AI is more likely to serve as a supplement rather than a replacement in the field of medical writing.
