Medical Benefit Review Services Associate
Field-Based | Region 3, Louisiana | Pay Rate: $19.50 per hour
Are you a recent graduate with a degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field?
Are you looking for a meaningful career where you can make a difference in the lives of older adults and individuals with disabilities?
As a Medical Benefit Review Services Associate, you will support Louisiana Medicaid and long-term care programs by conducting in-home assessments, coordinating services, and helping older adults and individuals with disabilities access the healthcare and community resources they need to remain safely and independently in their homes.
This field-based position serves individuals throughout Assumption, Lafourche, St. Charles, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Mary, and Terrebonne Parishes and requires regular travel within the assigned region.
What You'll Learn and Do
  • Conduct in-home assessments for applicants and participants receiving Long-Term Personal Care Services (LT-PCS).
  • Evaluate client needs and gather information to support eligibility determinations, care planning, and service coordination.
  • Provide Choice Counseling for Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) programs when requested.
  • Educate applicants and family members about Louisiana Medicaid long-term care programs, healthcare services, and community-based support resources.
  • Develop and maintain person-centered Plans of Care based on individual needs, goals, and functional assessments.
  • Coordinate services and connect clients with healthcare providers, community organizations, and social service resources.
  • Complete monitoring visits, client surveys, case documentation, and quality management activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure adherence to state and program guidelines.
Training and Development
  • Receive specialized training in Louisiana Medicaid, long-term care, and community-based healthcare programs.
  • Obtain IHC Certification through the Louisiana Department of Health.
  • Gain hands-on experience in case management, care coordination, client assessments, and healthcare navigation.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interest in working directly with diverse populations.
  • Louisiana resident.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and ability to travel daily.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple client cases and priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in social services, human services, healthcare, case management, care coordination, community outreach, or client advocacy.
