Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Patient Assistance Counselor III to support patients who are uninsured, underinsured, have limited benefit coverage, or face high out-of-pocket prescription and medical expenses. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service while assisting patients and healthcare providers through patient assistance program processes, insurance investigations, financial assessments, and application reviews.

The ideal candidate will bring strong insurance verification experience, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to navigate complex patient situations with empathy and professionalism.


Key Responsibilities
  • Review and process patient assistance applications and supporting documentation.
  • Conduct insurance investigations and verify patient coverage details.
  • Assess patient financial information to determine program eligibility.
  • Communicate application outcomes and status updates to patients and healthcare providers.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service through inbound and outbound phone interactions.
  • Respond to patient inquiries regarding coverage, eligibility, and program requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in internal systems.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all applicable privacy regulations.
  • Meet productivity, quality, and service-level expectations.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of insurance verification experience.
  • 5+ years of call center experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple systems and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive patient information confidentially.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of empathy and professionalism when assisting patients.

This is a Contract position based out of Tampa, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.80 - $23.80/hr.
