What is a Remote Media job?

A Remote Media job refers to any role within the media industry—such as content creation, social media management, marketing, or digital journalism—that can be performed from a location outside of a traditional office, usually from home. These jobs typically involve producing, managing, or distributing digital content via online platforms. Remote Media professionals use various digital tools to collaborate with teams, schedule and publish content, and analyze digital engagement. This flexibility allows for a better work-life balance and access to global job opportunities.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Media Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Media Specialist, you need expertise in digital content creation, social media management, and a strong understanding of marketing principles, often supported by a degree in communications, marketing, or a related field. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), graphic design tools like Adobe Creative Suite, and analytics platforms such as Google Analytics is typically required. Strong organizational skills, creativity, and effective virtual communication set top performers apart in this role. These skills and qualities are essential for producing engaging media content, executing successful campaigns, and collaborating efficiently with remote teams.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in remote media roles, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in remote media roles often face challenges such as maintaining effective communication with team members across different time zones, managing project deadlines without in-person supervision, and ensuring access to the necessary technology and software for content creation. These challenges can be addressed by establishing clear communication protocols, utilizing collaborative tools like project management platforms and video conferencing, and proactively coordinating schedules. Many remote media teams also hold regular check-ins to ensure alignment and foster a sense of connection despite physical distance.

Job description

Your Role

We're looking for a dynamic Media Services Partner to help Hudl drive revenue by smashing digital advertising campaigns out of the park and nurturing epic partnerships with media agencies, creative agencies, and top-tier brands.

In this role, you'll wear a lot of exciting hats: campaign strategist, ad operations specialist, project manager, and account manager. You'll oversee the launch of Hudl display, video, and native campaigns, working across multiple agency and client contacts to deliver flawless execution and make doing business with Hudl an absolute breeze.

While Hudl values flexibility, this role is based out of our Lincoln HQ or our Omaha office.

As a Media Services Partner, you'll:

  • Rock bespoke sponsorships. You'll act as the ultimate project manager, helping us execute customized sponsorships and high-impact campaigns from concept to completion.
  • Be insight-driven and AI-forward. You'll pull campaign reports and translate raw data into key insights for our stakeholders. We use emerging AI tools to supercharge our efficiency, freeing you up to spend less time manually pulling numbers and more time analyzing them.
  • Have a voice. You'll actively call out ways to make our advertising workflows and products better, directly influencing how we evolve our processes.
  • Communicate and connect. You'll build rock-solid relationships with strategic planners, account directors, third-party ad tech providers and media buyers to keep our campaigns running smoothly.
  • Be fiercely cross-functional. You'll collaborate seamlessly across Hudl's internal teams to maximize revenue and deliver an unforgettable client experience.
  • Deliver big results. You'll spot revenue opportunities, present them confidently to clients alongside the Hudl account team and crush service-level objectives.
  • Master the juggle. You'll switch hats on the fly, adapt to a rapidly evolving environment and thrive in the fast lane without missing a beat.
Must-Haves
  • Experienced. You have either paid your dues in a media agency or digital advertising role, or you're a sharp junior talent with a strong educational background in advertising.
  • Passionate about culture and brands. You have a massive interest in executing partnerships for endemic locker room brands and beyond.
  • Tech-curious. You're eager to learn the technical ropes and have a baseline understanding of web debuggers, HTML/JavaScript pixels, and ad-serving tech.
  • Industry-savvy. You have a solid grasp of online branded content solutions and media options.
  • Eager to build and learn. You have a genuine passion for understanding new tech and want to help us scale a business from the ground up.
Nice-to-Haves
  • Google Suite expertise. You already know your way around the Google Ad Manager platform.
  • National brand experience. You have dipped your toes into large deals with national brands and agencies
Our Role
  • Champion work-life harmony. We'll give you the flexibility you need in your work life (e.g., flexible vacation time, company-wide holidays and timeout (meeting-free) days, remote work options and more) so you can enjoy your personal life too.
  • Guarantee autonomy. We have an open, honest culture and we trust our people from day one. Your team will support you, but you'll own your work and have the agency to try new ideas.
  • Encourage career growth. We're lifelong learners who encourage professional development. We'll give you tons of resources and opportunities to keep growing.
  • Provide an environment to help you succeed. We've invested in our offices, designing incredible spaces with our employees in mind. But whether you're at the office or working remotely, we'll provide you the tech stack and hardware to do your best work.
  • Support your mental and physical health. We care about our employees' wellbeing. Our Employee Assistance Program, employee resource groups and fitness partner Peerfit have you covered.
  • Cover your medical insurance. We have multiple plans to pick from to ensure you'll have the coverage you (and your dependents) want, including vision, dental, fertility healthcare and family forming benefits.
  • Contribute to your 401(K). Yep, that's free money. We'll match up to 4% of your own contribution.
Compensation
