Integrated Communications Manager– Avionics 

RTX is seeking an experienced communications professional to join the Collins Aerospace Avionics Communications team. Reporting to the Avionics Strategic Business Unit (SBU) Communications Lead, this role serves as a trusted communications advisor to Avionics leadership and helps develop and execute integrated communications strategies that advance business priorities, strengthen the company's reputation, and support commercial growth. 

This individual will work across executive communications, product communications, earned and owned media, employee engagement, thought leadership, crisis preparedness, and strategic campaigns. The role partners closely with business leaders, product management, engineering, public relations, government relations, legal, HR, and corporate communications. 

What You'll Do:

  • Serve as a strategic communications partner supporting the Avionics Communications Lead across the business.  
  • Develop and execute integrated communications strategies supporting business priorities, product launches, customer engagement and growth initiatives.  
  • Lead communications planning for major strategic initiatives across the Avionics portfolio.  
  • Develop executive communications for Avionics leadership, including speeches, presentations, talking points, employee messages, media preparation and leadership visibility opportunities.  
  • Create compelling messaging and content across earned, owned and shared channels.  
  • Support major product launches, customer announcements, industry events and trade shows.  
  • Manage communications plans for organizational announcements, transformation initiatives and change management efforts.  
  • Monitor industry, competitor and policy developments and provide strategic communications recommendations to leadership.  
  • Help prepare leaders for media interviews, executive presentations, analyst engagements and customer events.  
  • Support issues management and crisis communications planning as needed.  
  • Measure communications effectiveness and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.  
     

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
  • 8+ years of communications, public relations, corporate communications or related experience.  
  • Demonstrated experience developing executive communications and integrated communications strategies.  
  • Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills.  
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities.  
  • Experience advising senior leaders and working in matrixed organizations.  
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously.  
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across functions and leadership levels.  

Qualifications We Prefer: 

  • Experience supporting aerospace, aviation, defense or other highly regulated industries.  
  • Experience supporting executive leadership teams.  
  • Product communications or technology communications experience.  
  • Crisis communications and issues management experience.  
  • Media relations experience.  
  • Experience leading integrated communications campaigns.  
  • MBA or Master's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field.  
  • Familiarity with digital communications, analytics and social media strategy.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
