What jobs in the US pay 300,000 a year?

Remote mechanics typically do not earn $300,000 annually, as most auto repair roles have lower pay scales. High-paying jobs in the US that can reach or exceed this level include specialized medical professionals, senior corporate executives, and certain technology roles such as software engineers or data scientists with extensive experience and advanced skills. Achieving such salaries often requires advanced certifications, significant experience, or leadership positions.

What is a Remote Mechanic job?

A Remote Mechanic job involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, and assisting with vehicle repairs remotely, often using video calls, online chats, or diagnostic tools. Instead of working in a traditional shop, remote mechanics guide vehicle owners or on-site technicians through repair processes. They may also analyze vehicle data, suggest solutions, and provide maintenance advice. This role is ideal for experienced mechanics who want to leverage their expertise without physically handling vehicles.

Can a mechanic make $200,000 a year?

A remote mechanic can potentially earn $200,000 annually, especially with specialized skills, certifications, and experience in high-demand areas or working for large companies. However, most mechanics' salaries typically range lower, and reaching this level often requires advanced expertise, overtime, or owning a business. Income varies based on location, workload, and the complexity of repairs performed.

Is auto mechanic a dying trade?

Auto mechanic is a stable profession with steady demand due to ongoing vehicle maintenance and repair needs. Advances in technology, such as electric vehicles and diagnostic tools, require mechanics to develop new skills, but the overall need for qualified technicians remains strong.

What does a typical day look like for a Remote Mechanic?

A typical day for a Remote Mechanic involves diagnosing vehicle or machinery issues via video calls, responding to service requests, and guiding clients or on-site technicians through troubleshooting and repairs. You’ll spend much of your time using digital tools to interpret diagnostic data, reviewing photos or videos sent by clients, and providing step-by-step instructions remotely. Collaboration with customer service teams, parts suppliers, and sometimes other mechanics is common. The ability to multitask, prioritize remote service tickets, and document each case thoroughly is key to success in this role. Over time, remote mechanics may have opportunities to specialize in certain types of equipment or move into supervisory roles within remote support teams.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Remote Mechanic position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Mechanic, you need strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, technical knowledge of vehicles or machinery, and prior hands-on repair experience, often supported by relevant certifications like ASE or manufacturer-specific credentials. Familiarity with diagnostic software, remote assistance platforms, and digital communication tools is crucial for virtual assessments and guidance. Excellent problem-solving, clear communication, and self-management abilities set outstanding remote mechanics apart. These skills ensure efficient, accurate service delivery while maintaining customer satisfaction and trust in a virtual environment.

What car repairs can you do at home?

A remote mechanic can perform several car repairs at home, including changing oil, replacing air filters, changing spark plugs, replacing batteries, and installing new wiper blades. Basic mechanical skills, proper tools, and safety precautions are essential for these tasks, which often do not require specialized equipment or certifications.

ARRISE USA represents our growing footprint in one of the world’s most dynamic tech and entertainment markets. With a remote team of product experts, we’re tapping into American talent to drive the next generation of iGaming innovation.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re building a brand-new, US-based, fully remote game studio developing new slot games and we’re looking for an experienced Senior Mathematician to develop the math models that power our games.
In this role, you’ll work with an experienced Game Designer to create new slot game math models with high-performing mechanics, ensuring they are accurate, fair, and engaging.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
  • Define the mathematical profile of the game, including the game’s balance, volatility, and player experience
  • Create and maintain the game’s PAR sheets and other math documentation, using both Excel and simulations
  • Work closely with the Game Designer, prototyping team, and engineering team to ensure the math is implemented accurately and follows the overall game design
  • Playtest and iterate on your game’s math and mechanics with an eye toward creating the best player experience possible
  • Collaborate with other mathematicians to provide gameplay feedback and recommendations for improvement on each other’s games
  • Regularly play competitors’ games in the iGaming and land-based spaces to stay abreast of industry trends and new mechanics
  • Set and share best practices, tools, and workflows within the math team
  • Mentor new junior mathematicians as our studio grows
WHAT WE ASK OF YOU
  • 5+ years of experience developing math models for real-money slot games for iGaming or land-based markets
  • Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong expertise using Excel to model probabilities and perform data analysis
  • Familiarity programming in C++, C#, or Python
  • Excellent written communication skills, especially the ability to clearly communicate complex and technical concepts to stakeholders across the globe
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging game mechanics, and player expectations
  • You should:
    • Be comfortable moving between multiple projects while maintaining a high attention to detail
    • Bring strong organization and structure to a fast-moving environment
    • Have a passion for problem solving in complex systems
    • Obsess over detail and refinement
    • Provide, accept, and act on feedback constructively
