Remote Measurement Engineer information

What is a remote measurement engineer?

Remote Measurement Engineers are professionals who specialize in designing, implementing, and maintaining systems that collect and analyze data from remote locations. They utilize various technologies such as sensors, data loggers, and communication networks to monitor and measure physical conditions or performance metrics from a distance. Their work is crucial in industries like oil and gas, environmental monitoring, and utilities, where on-site data collection may be difficult or hazardous. Remote Measurement Engineers ensure the accuracy and reliability of the collected data, enabling informed decision-making and efficient operations.

How does a remote measurement engineer typically collaborate with on-site engineering teams and field technicians?

Remote Measurement Engineers often work closely with on-site teams to calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain measurement systems from a distance. Collaboration usually happens via video conferences, remote desktop tools, and cloud-based data platforms, allowing engineers to provide real-time support and analysis. Regular communication is key, as remote engineers may need to interpret sensor data, guide field technicians through complex procedures, and ensure that measurement standards are met without being physically present. Building strong remote working relationships and maintaining clear documentation are essential to success in this role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote measurement engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Measurement Engineer, you need a solid background in instrumentation, data analysis, and engineering principles, usually supported by a degree in engineering or a related field. Familiarity with remote sensing technologies, data acquisition systems, and software such as MATLAB or LabVIEW is commonly required. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help you excel in troubleshooting and collaborating with remote teams. These skills are crucial for ensuring accurate measurements, reliable data transmission, and successful project outcomes in distributed or off-site environments.

What is the difference between Remote Measurement Engineer vs Remote Data Analyst?

Required CredentialsBachelor's in Engineering, certifications in measurement toolsBachelor's in Statistics, certifications in data analysis
Work EnvironmentField measurements, technical software, remote collaborationData interpretation, reporting, remote analysis
Industry UsageManufacturing, engineering, infrastructureBusiness, finance, marketing

Remote Measurement Engineers focus on collecting and analyzing physical measurement data in technical fields, often working with engineering tools. Remote Data Analysts interpret data sets to inform business decisions. While both roles require analytical skills and remote work capabilities, their industry focus and technical expertise differ significantly.

Job description

Role Summary

The Measurement Lead for tvScientific will own how we quantify, communicate, and optimize the impact of our CTV and performance TV investment. You will build the measurement framework for Pinterest + tvScientific, partner closely with Sales, CS, Product, and Analytics, and turn complex data into clear narratives that drive client decisions and revenue growth.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop the end-to-end measurement strategy for tvScientific campaigns, including incrementality, attribution, MMM, and test-and-learn playbooks
  • Design and operationalize standard reporting, experimentation frameworks, and learning agendas for priority advertisers
  • Partner with Sales and CS to diagnose performance, craft insights, and package results into compelling client-ready stories and recommendations
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Analytics to ensure Pinterest tvScientific data quality, governance, and scalable pipelines for measurement
  • Create repeatable templates - dashboards, one-pagers, and QBR materials - that make measurement easy to use for customer-facing teams
  • Proactively identify measurement gaps and new opportunities, including new lift methodologies, vertical benchmarks, and creative/landing page insights
  • Leverage AI-powered tools and workflows to accelerate insight generation, automate measurement reporting, and surface patterns across large datasets at scale
  • Serve as the internal SME for tvScientific measurement: educate GTM teams, support strategic pitches, and represent the program in cross-functional forums

What We're Looking For:

  • 7+ years in marketing science, media analytics, or performance measurement at a platform, DSP, TV/CTV partner, or analytics consultancy
  • Deep hands-on experience with incrementality testing, attribution, and performance diagnostics for digital and/or CTV campaigns
  • Strong SQL/Excel skills and familiarity with BI and visualization tools; able to QA and interpret complex datasets
  • Excellent storyteller who can translate noisy, technical results into simple narratives and actionable client recommendations
  • Proven track record working cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Engineering to launch and scale measurement programs
  • Comfortable operating in under-resourced, 01 environments with a bias to action and the ability to independently prioritize
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business or Marketing, or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with performance CTV platforms is a strong plus
  • Experience in retail/e-commerce or other DR-heavy verticals is ideal
  • Familiarity with privacy, data access groups, and governance for partner measurement integrations is a plus

In-Office Requirement Statement:

  • We recognize that the ideal environment for work is situational and may differ across departments. What this looks like day-to-day can vary based on the needs of each organization or role.
  • This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times a year and therefore can be situated anywhere in the country.

Relocation Statement:

  • This position is not eligible for relocation assistance. Visit our PinFlex page to learn more about our working model.
