Remote Measurement Engineer information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Measurement Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Measurement Engineer, you need a solid background in instrumentation, data analysis, and engineering principles, usually supported by a degree in engineering or a related field. Familiarity with remote sensing technologies, data acquisition systems, and software such as MATLAB or LabVIEW is commonly required. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help you excel in troubleshooting and collaborating with remote teams. These skills are crucial for ensuring accurate measurements, reliable data transmission, and successful project outcomes in distributed or off-site environments.

What are Remote Measurement Engineers?

Remote Measurement Engineers are professionals who specialize in designing, implementing, and maintaining systems that collect and analyze data from remote locations. They utilize various technologies such as sensors, data loggers, and communication networks to monitor and measure physical conditions or performance metrics from a distance. Their work is crucial in industries like oil and gas, environmental monitoring, and utilities, where on-site data collection may be difficult or hazardous. Remote Measurement Engineers ensure the accuracy and reliability of the collected data, enabling informed decision-making and efficient operations.

What is the difference between Remote Measurement Engineer vs Remote Data Analyst?

Required CredentialsBachelor's in Engineering, certifications in measurement toolsBachelor's in Statistics, certifications in data analysis
Work EnvironmentField measurements, technical software, remote collaborationData interpretation, reporting, remote analysis
Industry UsageManufacturing, engineering, infrastructureBusiness, finance, marketing

Remote Measurement Engineers focus on collecting and analyzing physical measurement data in technical fields, often working with engineering tools. Remote Data Analysts interpret data sets to inform business decisions. While both roles require analytical skills and remote work capabilities, their industry focus and technical expertise differ significantly.

How does a Remote Measurement Engineer typically collaborate with on-site engineering teams and field technicians?

Remote Measurement Engineers often work closely with on-site teams to calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain measurement systems from a distance. Collaboration usually happens via video conferences, remote desktop tools, and cloud-based data platforms, allowing engineers to provide real-time support and analysis. Regular communication is key, as remote engineers may need to interpret sensor data, guide field technicians through complex procedures, and ensure that measurement standards are met without being physically present. Building strong remote working relationships and maintaining clear documentation are essential to success in this role.

Job description

The measurement team creates solutions that prove the business value of the media dollars spent on the StackAdapt platform. Our vision is to create market-leading products that give marketers confidence in their approach on our platform, and highlight areas to optimize and drive further value.

We believe that providing objective data on the performance of media dollars creates more committed customers and a stronger concentration of media dollars on our platform.

This person will report to a Director of Product who also oversees the Reporting, Measurement, and Planning teams. They will work day-to-day with two other PMs in the Measurement space, as well as a dedicated team of engineers, designers, and QA.

StackAdapt is a Remote First company, we are open to candidates located anywhere in the US and Canada for this position.

What you'll be doing:

  • Owning and creating the roadmap for various existing Measurement solutions (Foot Traffic Attribution, Account-Based Marketing Measurement, First-Party Data Attribution, etc.)
  • Creating 0->1 Measurement solutions across new verticals and customer journeys.
  • Responsible for delivery of product specs that capture user needs along with clear direction for the engineer, design, and QA team on how the feature should behave and what success looks like.
  • Success for this role is someone who can drive features through to completion, delivering high-quality results while dealing with ambiguity, and creating products that drive more customer engagement with the StackAdapt platform.

What you'll bring to the table:

  • Proven experience delivering complex projects across multiple milestones.
  • Excellent collaborator, able to tailor your approach when working with Product, Design, Engineering, Data Science, and Revenue teams.
  • Keen design sense; you're able to look at a feature and understand it through a user's eyes.
  • Clarity of writing denotes clarity of thought; you're able to capture and distill ideas down into written word in order to build consensus around your vision.
  • AdTech experience preferred but not required.
  • You've successfully incorporated LLM usage into your day-to-day to accelerate your work, and understand where these tools can help customers versus where more deterministic methods are appropriate.Â
