Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Associate Vice President (AVP) – Patient Access Operations with deep functional expertise in Hospital Patient Access. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading Patient Access operations for large hospital systems or integrated delivery networks (IDNs) and a strong understanding of front-end revenue cycle processes, patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, authorization, and financial counseling.

This leadership role will partner with hospital executives to optimize Patient Access operations, improve patient experience, increase revenue capture, and drive operational excellence through process transformation, automation, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic growth and operational transformation initiatives focused on Patient Access for hospital systems.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Patient Access workflows, operational best practices, and revenue cycle optimization.
  • Partner with hospital executives, including CFOs, COOs, CIOs, Chief Revenue Officers, and Revenue Cycle leaders, to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Drive transformation initiatives across patient scheduling, registration, insurance verification, prior authorization, financial clearance, patient estimates, and point-of-service collections.
  • Develop and present innovative solutions leveraging AI, automation, analytics, and digital technologies to improve operational efficiency and patient satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, IT, and revenue cycle teams to design end-to-end Patient Access solutions.
  • Lead business development efforts, client presentations, solution workshops, and executive discussions.
  • Support RFP responses, solution development, pricing, and proposal presentations.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies impacting Patient Access and Revenue Cycle Management.
  • Mentor teams and provide thought leadership on healthcare transformation initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • MBA, MHA, or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • 12–18+ years of experience in Hospital Revenue Cycle Management, with at least 8 years focused on Patient Access.
