What is a Remote MBA Internship?

A Remote MBA Internship is a work experience program designed for MBA students or recent graduates that is completed virtually, rather than in a traditional office setting. These internships allow participants to work on real business projects, collaborate with teams, and gain practical skills relevant to their field of study—all from a remote location. Remote MBA internships are popular for their flexibility and accessibility, enabling students to gain valuable experience regardless of their geographical location. They often include tasks such as market research, financial analysis, project management, and strategy development. Many companies now offer remote internships to provide broader opportunities and adapt to modern work trends.

An MBA internship can often lead to a full-time job offer, as it provides valuable experience and networking opportunities for future employment. However, securing a job depends on individual performance, company needs, and the internship's duration and quality.

What are some common challenges faced by interns during a remote MBA internship, and how can they be overcome?

Remote MBA interns often encounter challenges such as building relationships with team members, staying motivated without in-person supervision, and managing time across different time zones. To overcome these, interns can proactively schedule regular check-ins with mentors, set clear daily goals, and leverage collaboration tools like Slack or Zoom to stay connected. Engaging in virtual networking events and seeking feedback also help create a supportive remote work environment and maximize learning opportunities.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote MBA Intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote MBA Intern, you generally need strong analytical abilities, business acumen, and ongoing enrollment in an accredited MBA program. Familiarity with productivity tools like Microsoft Office Suite, project management platforms (e.g., Asana, Trello), and sometimes data analysis software is typically required. Exceptional communication, time management, and self-motivation are critical soft skills for excelling in a remote environment. These skills ensure effective contribution to projects, seamless remote collaboration, and the ability to deliver results independently.

Ottimate

Job description

Ottimate Summer 2026
Commitment: Part-Time 20 hours/week
Duration: 8 weeks
Comp: $20-$25/hour
About Ottimate
Ottimate is an AI-powered accounts payable automation platform serving restaurants, hotels, healthcare, and other multi-unit businesses. Our platform turns invoices, approvals, and vendor payments into a single automated workflow. [Replace with standard About Ottimate boilerplate.]
About the role
Ottimate's Solutions Engineering team works directly with customers, before and after the sale, to solve the technical problems that stand between a prospect and a working integration. When a customer's system has no standard connection path, the team builds the solution, often live and AI-assisted. As an example, a recent customer's system could only export an HTML file with no payment path, and the team turned it into a working integration in a day.
You will spend 8 weeks building the analytics and operations layer that supports this team: measuring the revenue impact of integration work, creating enablement materials, and assisting the director with organizing the operational processes that connect Solutions Engineering to sales and product. You will work with AI tools every day to get it done. This is a build-the-machine internship, not a make-the-decks internship.
What you'll do
Revenue analytics. Build and own a live dataset of blocked and declined integrations, classified by what it would take to unlock each one, sourced from Salesforce deal data. Stand up the team's success-metrics baseline (recovered revenue, expansion pipeline, win rate on previously declined integrations, time from customer ask to working prototype) and deliver a recurring readout for leadership.
Enablement. Help draft and roll out the team's customer discovery-question playbook, document a recent customer build as a case study for onboarding, and turn the team's integration-classification framework into a one-page decision guide with worked examples.
GTM operations. Support the connective tissue between Solutions Engineering, sales, and product: keep the classification log current, track team-sourced expansion opportunities from first conversation to pipeline, and maintain the revenue-ranked log of product signals through to roadmap or ship.
You'll work with AI tools every day
This is an AI-native internship. You will get a paid Claude account and work the way the team works:
  • Pull and analyze Salesforce deal data with AI-assisted querying instead of waiting on an analyst.
  • Build metrics readouts, decision guides, and playbook drafts with AI doing the heavy lifting on first drafts and data wrangling, while you own accuracy and judgment.
  • Sit with a team that prototypes customer solutions live with AI, and learn that workflow firsthand.

Requirements
  • A current MBA student.
  • Analytical: comfortable building a metrics baseline from CRM and deal data, and defensible about your numbers.
  • A strong written communicator: much of this job is turning messy operating reality into one-page artifacts people actually read.
  • AI-curious: eager to make AI tools part of how you work, not just a topic you studied. No engineering background required.
What you'll gain
  • Daily, hands-on AI tooling experience alongside a team using it for real revenue work, a practical skill set few MBA programs teach.
  • Direct exposure to live B2B customer engagements across the sales cycle.
  • Ownership of a metrics system that company leadership reads.
  • A portfolio of shipped artifacts: a revenue analytics baseline, an enablement playbook, and an operating process that outlives the summer.

Benefits
Ottimate is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion. We do not discriminate based on race, color, national origin, religion, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, veteran status, disability status, or marital status. If you are excited about the role but do not meet 100% of the qualifications listed above, we encourage you to apply. Nothing in this job posting should be construed as an offer or guarantee of employment.
