Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth mental health assessments to identify the unique needs of each patient and develop tailored treatment plans that reflect their individual circumstances.
• Provide high-quality therapeutic interventions utilizing various modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), aimed at helping patients achieve measurable improvements in their mental health.
• Facilitate engaging psychoeducational and support groups to educate patients and foster a sense of community, addressing issues such as coping strategies, emotional regulation, and lifestyle changes.
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care, with a holistic approach to treatment.
• Deliver crisis intervention services to assist patients in acute distress, employing de-escalation techniques and ensuring their safety.
• Provide education to patients about their mental health conditions, insights into treatment options, and guidance on accessing community resources to support their recovery journey.
• Maintain diligent and accurate documentation of patient interactions in compliance with legal and ethical standards, using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Actively participate in ongoing professional development and training, staying current with the latest mental health research and techniques to enhance therapy quality and patient outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our practice serves a diverse clientele, including individuals from various age groups and backgrounds. We are often referred patients experiencing a range of mental health issues, necessitating culturally competent care and empathy. This role will require an understanding of how socio-economic factors influence mental health, and the ability to work with patients in varied life circumstances.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy (MFFT), or Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Connecticut.
• Demonstrated expertise in mental health disorders and therapeutic modalities, with a strong foundation in evidence-based practices.
• Experience delivering therapy to a broad range of demographics, showcasing adaptability and knowledge of cultural competencies.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, necessary for building rapport with patients and collaborating with team members.

Preferred Experience

• Prior engagement in a community health setting that highlights experience with diverse patient populations.
• Experience with digital health records systems, along with the ability to leverage technology to enhance patient experience and treatment efficacy.
• A history of conducting group therapy and leading support sessions.

Compensation and Benefits
