C2 Mission Systems Data Architect
The Opportunity:
For an organization to transform in today's digital world, it needs to properly collect, store, and organize its data. Effective data management can enable more efficient operations, yielding more growth. As a data architect, you know how to apply your creative-thinking and analytical mindset to help organizations manage their data assets. We're looking for a data architecture lead like you to solve complex challenges and deliver leading-edge solutions for our warfighters.
As a data architect on our battle management team, you'll use your extensive technical expertise to lead the design of data architecture solutions for defining how mission data is modeled, governed, and moved across next-generation Command & Control (C2) systems - turning sensor feeds, mission systems, and enterprise stores into a coherent, interoperable data foundation that operators and analysts can trust. You'll resolve routine data architecture-related issues in collaboration with business analysts and technology teams by analyzing data architecture to make decisions and recommendations on future data architecture developments.
In this role, you'll share your technical expertise, introduce best practices, and use tools like AWS and data fabric and data mesh to model from concept to physical implementation, designing the data fabric/mesh that connects mission systems, establishing master data management and governance, and setting the data strategy that ties it all together. You'll architect on the cloud (AWS) and align to DoDAF and interoperability standard. You'll lead your team as it designs, defines, develops, and tests cloud solution components, and you'll serve as a liaison between clients and developers to ensure that requirements are met and solutions are delivered.
With your motivation to establish processes and facilitate technological innovation, you'll make a lasting impact on the warfighters.
Join us. The world can't wait.
You Have:
  • Experience in enterprise data modeling from conceptual through logical to physical design
  • Experience designing data fabric or data mesh architectures across multiple mission systems
  • Experience establishing master data management (MDM) and data governance practices
  • Experience applying DoDAF data-centric views and interoperability standards to system-of-systems designs
  • Experience defining data strategy that spans and integrates multiple mission systems
  • Experience with cloud data architecture on AWS, including data governance and security
  • Ability to translate mission requirements into scalable, interoperable, and trusted data designs
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Data Science and 10+ years of experience with data architecture or data engineering, including mission or defense systems, or 14+ years of experience with data architecture or data engineering, including mission or defense systems, in lieu of a degree

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with C2, ISR, or sensor data and its architectural and latency constraints
  • Experience designing real-time and streaming data architectures, such as Kafka, Kinesis, or Flink
  • Experience with data cataloging, lineage, and metadata management tooling
  • Experience with DataOps, data pipeline automation, and CI/CD for data
  • Master's degree
  • Secret clearance
  • Security+ CE certification or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification
  • TOGAF certification or equivalent
  • AWS certification, including Solutions Architect, Data Analytics, or Database

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
