JOB SUMMARY

The Delivery Manager is responsible for the overall delivery of product or solution work. The Delivery Manager plays a critical role in development, testing, and release of software by assisting one or more product teams to create, update, and support digital products. This role is accountable for the efficient and effective delivery of one or more products and associated features.

The Delivery Manager focuses on the delivery of working software and assisting product teams. The Delivery Manager assists the Product Owner / Manager to define the roadmap for any given product and translate the roadmap into features and user stories. The Deliver Manager coaches the team and works to identify and remove impediments to the team’s goals and objectives. The Delivery Manager is responsible for managing, tracking, and working dependencies for and on the product team. This role leads release coordination and planning and ensures the product team compiles with technology policies for release. The Delivery Manager is responsible for service onboarding and ensuring production support teams have the necessary materials and information to support products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assist the Product Owner/ Product Manager in defining the product roadmap and translating the roadmap into workable items for the team.

• Deliver products and projects using Agile methodologies.

• Help the Product Owner / Manager balance the prioritization of technical debt against new feature development.

• Lead the product team in Agile processes by organizing and facilitating standard Agile / Scrum ceremonies (daily standup, sprint planning, sprint demo, and

retrospective, etc.).

• Track key Agile / Scrum metrics and leverage them to assist in team performance – velocity, capacity, burndowns, etc.

• Support the team in evaluating, modifying, and improving their internal processes for delivery.

• Protect the team from outside interruptions and distractions. Guard the team’s time to ensure continuous delivery.

• Use appropriate tools e.g. JIRA Software to assist team tracking and efficiency.

• Track and monitor dependencies the product team has on other product and development teams. Monitor dependencies on the team. Work with other

Delivery Managers and teams to ensure planned work is completed as expected.

• Work with the Product Owner to ensure that change management and training activities are completed.

• Assist in the triage, tracking, prioritization, and planning for production issues related to the product.

• Operationalize epics and features. Work with the Application and Platform Management team and business stakeholders to operationalize both products

and features.

• Manage vendors engaged on epics; including contractual paperwork, timesheet, scheduling, status reporting, and invoicing. Ensure vendors are well

integrated with internal policies and processes including JIRA Software usage, releases, and production readiness. Coordinate with DevOps and Shared

Testing to ensure that vendor solutions are tested appropriately. Coordinate release activities with IT Operations.

• Perform as a project manager across all major phases of a project including initiation, definition and planning, execution / implementation, performance and

control, and project close.

• Participate in appropriate Agile practices including Scrum of Scrums. Work to track, escalate, and resolve issues affecting multiple teams.

• Support department-wide agile activities and ceremonies including Inspect and Adapt, Sprint Review, Scrum of Scrums, and PI Planning.
