Senior Vault Operations Manager - Crypto

Job description

Career Renew is recruiting for one of its clients a Senior Vault Operations Manager - Crypto - this is a fully remote role for Europe or US EST based candidates.

We are a DeFi infrastructure company building multi-chain ERC-4626 vault infrastructure for institutional capital. Our infrastructure has processed over 11 Bi multiple chains, and we operate the vault stack behind a growing roster of curators, exchanges, and asset issuers.

The role:
We are hiring a senior operator to own the financial operations layer across our vault range - NAV, P&L attribution, financial reporting, strategy risk policy, withdrawal mechanics, vendor and cost management.
This is a senior, individual-contributor role. You will work closely with engineering, smart contract, and curator teams, but the financial operations judgment on the vaults sits with you.

What you will own:

- Vault NAV and P&L โ€” the methodology and attribution work (defining how NAV is calculated, configuring monitoring tools to attribute performance to its sources).
- Financial reporting โ€” the output (internal and LP-facing reports, performance attribution, exposure breakdowns, NAV reconciliations).
- Vault operational integrity. You are responsible for the vaults running correctly day to day โ€” checking that withdrawals have executed, liquidity is available, data pipelines and portfolio tools are working, and figures reconcile. If something is wrong with a vault, you are the first to know.
- Strategy risk policies. Define and clearly communicate risk policies for the engineering team to execute through monitoring and automation โ€” exposure limits, drawdown thresholds, allowed counterparties and protocols, concentration caps, leverage bounds.
- Withdrawal cycle management. Configure withdrawal queue cadence and liquidity buffers across the vault range.
- Vendor and vault cost management. Own day-to-day operational relationships with curators, custodians, monitoring providers, and on-chain data providers. Maintain a precise, current view of the cost stack across each vault โ€” strategy fees, gas, infrastructure, vendor costs โ€” so that BD and product can price accurately.
- New vault onboarding. Build and run the operational playbook for launching new vaults and onboarding new curators.

What we expect you to bring:

- 5-10 years of experience in TradFi fund operations, with most recent experience in crypto โ€” a crypto-native fund, custodian, or yield protocol. - **Fund operations track record. You have produced clear, accurate financial reporting across NAV, P&L, and fees in production. You have stood up monitoring and reporting from a blank sheet. - DeFi fluency. Working knowledge of ERC-4626 vault mechanics, oracle-based pricing, async withdrawal queues, multi-sig custody, and execution across major DeFi venues (Aave, Morpho, Pendle, Uniswap, etc.). DeFi experience is a hard requirement. - DeFi P&L attribution. You have built or operated monitoring tooling that attributes strategy returns to their on-chain sources. You can speak to where alpha came from, where leakage occurred, and how you closed the gap. This is one of the harder skills in the role and we will weight it heavily. - Demonstrated ownership of operations, with excellent written communication. You take responsibility for things working โ€” and you document them clearly enough that engineering, risk, and BD teams can act on what you produce.

Nice to have:

- Exposure to stablecoin issuer ecosystems.
- Experience with Pendle PT/YT mechanics or other structured DeFi yield primitives.
- Multi-chain operational experience (LayerZero, native bridges).
- Background touching institutional regulatory frameworks (SEC, CIMA, FCA, or comparable).
