Job Summary
This high-level employee will be responsible for improving the overall Virtual Desktop (VDI) experience through automation and design. You will provide guidance and plans for the existing and future desktop virtualization architectures and desktop virtualization roadmaps. This position is responsible for collaborating with Virtualization Engineering, Infrastructure Operations, and Infrastructure Service Management teams in the engineering and design area of responsibility; participating in the design and build of repeatable patterns (build-kits) to improve deployment times for non-prod and prod environments; transitioning knowledge to Infrastructure Operations.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building and operating Azure Virtual Desktop environments and a strong understanding of Microsoft Windows, Azure infrastructure, identity, networking, application delivery, and infrastructure automation. Experience with Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp, particularly supporting or migrating traditional Citrix workloads to Azure Virtual Desktop, is highly beneficial. Experience with Nerdio for AVD deployment, management, optimization, and automation is also preferred.
Required Job Qualifications:
* Bachelors Degree and 5 years in Information Technology or relevant experience OR Technical Certification and/or College Courses and 7 year Information Technology experience OR 9 years Information Technology experience.
* Demonstrated hands-on experience designing, building, configuring, operating, and supporting Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments.
* Experience configuring and managing AVD components including host pools, session hosts, workspaces, application groups, desktop assignments, scaling, and user access.
* Strong experience with FSLogix, including profile containers, configuration, storage integration, troubleshooting, and profile performance.
*Experience building and supporting Microsoft RemoteApp / AVD RemoteApp solutions for enterprise application delivery.
