As a Cloud Solutions Architect, you will work with Mission Cloud’s customers to develop strategic solutions leveraging the AWS portfolio, focused on WorkSpaces. You will work with our Project Management and Cloud Engineering teams to provide Mission’s Professional Services to the accounts and projects to which you’re aligned. As a Cloud Solution Architect, you’ll be the primary point of contact for your accounts. 
Our Cloud Solution Architects are responsible for holding regular consulting sessions to build a roadmap for further optimization, automation, and resiliency while the hand-on engineers execute the road map items driving world class outcomes. 
This position is 100% remote. Occasional travel may be required.  
Responsibilities 

  • Consult with multiple clients simultaneously to understand business and technical needs 
  • Be a trusted advisor to assigned clients; help align customer expectations with best practices 
  • Develop strategic roadmaps and project plans based on customer goals 
  • Work with clients and Project Managers to set expectations, drive alignment, and coordinate timelines 
  • Document and present recommendations to customers, including senior leadership 
  • Translate customer requirements into LOE estimates, design documents and keep project tracking boards up to date 
  • Provide guidance to Cloud Engineers as they implement customer roadmaps  
  • Quality check engineering work; ensure top quality work and customer satisfaction 
  • Support Presales Cloud Solutions Architects in proposal design and positioning 
  • Mentor Cloud Engineers 

Requirements 

  • Experience working in a customer-facing consulting role 
  • Experience developing project roadmaps, LOE estimates, and design documents 
  • Ability to lead customer facing projects, assigning work to teams, and quality checking engineering work 
  • Ability to translate technical requirements to a non-technical audience 
  • Ability to present solutions to customers, overcome objectives, and create consensus 
  • Extensive experience designing and deploying AWS WorkSpaces and AppStream/WorkSpaces Applications environments aligned to user personas, including persistent and non-persistent models. Must have led persona-based pilots/PoCs, including success criteria definition, compatibility validation, rollback planning, and user readiness considerations. 
  • Strong knowledge of networking for end-user computing. Must have experience with bandwidth planning, latency/RTT targets, and client connectivity considerations. Must be able to troubleshoot and remediate user experience issues caused by network conditions. 
  • Hands-on experience designing AWS VPC connectivity for EUC, including DNS considerations, directory reachability, routing, and enterprise connectivity patterns (e.g., VPN/Direct Connect) for WorkSpaces environments.   
  • Expertise with Active Directory integration and SSO standards for VDI environments, including SAML-based federation patterns and associated prerequisites/claims mapping. 
  • Experience designing and operating certificate-based or passwordless authentication. 
  • Experience with application management and virtualization, including Intune, SCCM, golden image creation, and app streaming. 
  • Expertise within OS and end-user computing environments (Windows/Linux WorkSpaces, profile management, and peripheral support). Demonstratable experience with OS hardening, application packaging, performance optimization (login time/resource usage), and lifecycle management (versioning/patching/testing). 
  • Proficiency managing WorkSpaces via automation and scripting, leveraging CLS/SDK/PowerShell tooling to standardize provisioning, configuration changes, and operational tasks at scale. 
  • Experience implementing EUC observability and operational readiness, including monitoring signals, troubleshooting workflows, and support playbooks for connection/performance incidents. 
  • Experience modernizing/migrating from VDI platforms (e.g., Citrix, Horizon, AVD) to AWS WorkSpaces, including application dependency analysis, sequencing and wave planning, and cutover planning. 
  • Ability to integrate WorkSpaces with enterprise SaaS solutions (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Drive) while maintaining security and user experience. 
  • Demonstrated capability to identify security gaps and produce actionable remediation recommendations to strengthen a client’s VDI/EUC security posture (network boundary controls, identity posture, access controls). 
  • Occasional off-hours support, depending on client's need
