The Role
Your role
Bring your specialist knowledge and experience to a company managing 50% of the world's MIPS and open up the opportunity to shape the very foundation of the technology that drives our world. In this role, you'll manage and administer the backbone of our technological infrastructure. You'll be the architect of the system, shaping the base definition, structure, and documentation to ensure the long-term success of our business operations.
What you will do
Maintain and Protect:
  • Optimize systems: Your expertise will be crucial in configuring, installing and maintaining database management systems, ensuring that our systems are always running at peak performance.
  • Set security protocols: You'll be responsible for managing user access and implementing policies and procedures to protect our valuable data from unauthorized access and external threats.

Strategize to Scale:
  • Plan ahead: You will conduct capacity planning and growth projections based on usage, ensuring that our system is always scalable to meet our business needs.
  • Make progress: You'll be a strategic partner, working closely with various teams to coordinate systematic database project plans that align with our organizational goals.
  • Generate ideas: You'll have the opportunity to propose and implement enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system, enabling us to deliver world-class services to our customers.

Recover and Resolve:
  • Be ready to recover: Develop strong backup and recovery plans to ensure that our system is always protected in the event of a failure.
  • Support solutions: Use your technical acumen to support end users and application developers in solving complex problems related to our database systems.

Who You Are
Required skills and experience
  • Responsible for the administration, maintenance, performance tuning, security, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery support of Model 204 (M204) databases in IBM z/OS mainframe environments.
  • Supports database design, capacity planning, change management, problem resolution, and production operations while ensuring database availability, integrity, and performance.
  • Collaborates with application, infrastructure, and security teams to implement database enhancements, manage access controls, and support mission-critical business applications.
  • Experience with M204 utilities and tools such as FAST/REORG, SOFTSPY, SIRSCAN, Horizon, MQ/204.

Preferred skills and experience
  • M204 version upgrades and maintenance.
  • RACF-based security integration is highly desirable.

Compensation:
The base compensation range for the position in the U.S. is - $100,080 to $190,080 based on a full-time schedule reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Kyndryl, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting.
Your actual compensation may vary depending on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction, including, but not limited to, geography, relevant job-related skills, education and experience, certification and licenses, internal pay equity, and market and business consideration. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city or local minimum wage requirement.
There is a different applicable compensation range for the following work locations:
California (San Francisco Bay Area): $120,120 to $228,000
California (All Other): $110,040 to $209,040
Colorado: $100,080 to $190,080
Massachusetts/ Virginia: $100,080 to $209,040
New York City: $120,120 to $228,000
Washington: $110,040 to $209,040
Washington DC: $110,040 to $209,040
This position will be eligible for Kyndryl's discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl's applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off.
Note: If this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.
