McKay Brothers and Quincy Data are looking for an experienced Field Technician. We are a profitable, industry-leading firm serving banks, hedge funds and trading firms. The Field Technician role entails field installation and maintenance of microwave communications and related networking equipment. This individual will assist and support the Construction Manager, Operations team and Networking team as required. The Field Technician will deliver quality installation of microwave; power and networking equipment for new and existing rollouts. Perform duties in support of network expansion to ensure new and upgraded equipment is operating to meet performance criteria within prescribed timeframes.
This is a field based position that requires travel to different worksites, warehouses, and datacenters. Strong consideration will be made for candidates based in NJ, OH and/or IL.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for providing quality installation and integration services for remote Low Latency microwave equipment. Remote equipment includes, but is not limited, to the following; Low Latency microwave equipment, servers, routers, batteries, rectifiers, inverters, microwave radios, and associated network equipment.
  • Follows detailed procedures when performing tasks while maintaining quality.
  • Perform Ethernet, Coaxial and fiber Connector installation and inspection. (Tools will be provided by the Company).
  • Provide field support in the following areas: equipment delivery coordination, equipment installation of batteries, rectifiers, inverters, and associated infrastructure used in Microwave networks.
  • Work with DC Power +24v and -48v systems.
  • Running and lacing power cable.
  • Running, cleaning, and testing fiber connections.
  • Cable Management, detailing and labeling within the equipment cabinets.
  • Maintain company resources such as; vehicle inventory, tools, vehicle, test equipment to ensure proper operation and availability.
  • Complete required administrative duties in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Adhere to safety practices and procedures.
  • Provide on-site analysis of ongoing specific construction projects; construction managers or project managers for advice on changes in plans.

Job Requirements:
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • 2+ years of Data Center Integration, Low voltage systems, Network Integration, and/or Microwave system Integration.
  • Related experience in computer operations, switching, and radio or data communications.
  • Must be able to move and/or lift material weighing up to a maximum of 60 pounds and drive long distances safely to complete job assignments.
  • Must be willing to work day, evening or night hours; emergency call-outs, weekends and holidays as required. May be required to be away from home location for periods of time.
  • Must be able to use hand & power tools, and basic test equipment.
  • Must be capable of understanding technical information and read construction drawings.
  • Will be required to work in extreme temperatures.

Compensation & Benefits:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $90,000-115,000. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
