Job description

Location: Remote, United States, with required travel
Position type: Full-time; position contingent upon program activation

Position Summary

Axyde Analytics is seeking a senior logistics and operations leader to oversee the end-to-end movement and delivery of high-value industrial materials under a complex, schedule-sensitive program.

This individual will serve as the company’s central operating owner across material readiness, transportation planning, third-party logistics, controlled-access delivery, documentation, exception management and final physical receipt.

The position requires disciplined coordination across internal quality, contracts, finance and executive teams, as well as external transportation, storage, inspection and delivery providers.

Responsibilities
  • Own the integrated operating plan from release-ready material through documented customer receipt.

  • Develop and maintain shipment schedules, capacity plans, recovery buffers and operating forecasts.

  • Coordinate material readiness, packaging, loading, weight verification, tender and delivery.

  • Manage third-party transportation, warehousing, inspection and final-delivery performance.

  • Establish clear custody, seal, condition, count and handoff controls.

  • Maintain operating dashboards covering schedule, capacity, exceptions, costs and recovery actions.

  • Coordinate delivery appointments and access requirements for controlled or restricted facilities.

  • Lead the response to delays, failed access, damage, shortage, contamination, rejection and redelivery events.

  • Preserve the evidence required for claims, reimbursement, corrective action and contractual notices.

  • Review detention, storage, redelivery, cleanup and other exceptional charges.

  • Develop standard operating procedures, escalation paths and written authorization controls.

  • Ensure that operational responsibilities are clearly assigned and that unresolved risks are elevated promptly.

  • Support commercial negotiations concerning transportation scope, capacity, liability, insurance and accessorial charges.

  • Coordinate with counsel, contracts and finance without independently making unauthorized contractual commitments.

  • Provide executive leadership with concise operating and risk reports.

Qualifications
  • Significant experience managing complex transportation, distribution or supply-chain programs.

  • Demonstrated responsibility for multi-party logistics operations and time-sensitive deliveries.

  • Experience managing carriers, warehouses, inspection providers and other third-party service organizations.

  • Strong knowledge of freight claims, custody records, proof of delivery, cargo liability and transportation insurance.

  • Experience with controlled-access, regulated or Government-related delivery environments preferred.

  • Ability to develop operating procedures, exception protocols and auditable documentation.

  • Strong commercial judgment and experience reviewing transportation rates and accessorial charges.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead urgent operational responses outside normal business hours.

  • Excellent written communication, negotiation and executive-reporting skills.

  • Ability and willingness to travel to operating and customer locations as required.

Success Measures
  • Reliable delivery cadence and recovery capacity.

  • Complete custody and shipment documentation.

  • Timely identification and escalation of operating risk.

  • Effective management of third-party providers.

  • Minimal unplanned cost and preventable delivery failure.

  • Complete evidence supporting physical receipt, claims and corrective action.

  • Clear separation between ordinary operating cost and exceptional or changed-scope cost.
