Job description

Introduction
The Department of Corrections (DOC) is focused on public safety through the custody and supervision of those in our care. Corrections employees have the opportunity to positively impact the lives of others through careers in a variety of fields. The Division of Management Services is currently recruiting to fill an IT Programmer/Analyst Senior (IS Systems Development Services Senior) position. This position will be headquartered at DOC central office in Madison, WI.
Position Summary
This position perform analysis, design, and development in supporting our offender applications for the DOC and works with department personnel of all levels to identify system requirements, plan, and design, develop, integrate and extend in-house and vendor software applications to meet business needs. This position will perform work in a variety of technical environments including cloud/web-based technologies, Oracle, SQL server, client-server, on-line and/or batch processing. This position will work as a member of Vendor Managed Systems and performs tasks independently and/or part of a team to solve problems and support production systems and/or processes.
This position has a strong focus on DOC's Juvenile Offender Management system, as well as other vendor managed software packages. Duties also include development, maintenance and support of reports, SQL, versioning.
Salary Information
The starting pay is between $63980 and $99257 per year, plus excellent benefits. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. The pay schedule/range is 07-34. A 12-month probationary period is required.

Job Details
Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application. The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency to employment.
NOTE: This position is eligible to work remotely 100% of the time. For positions that allow remote working flexibility, working outside of Wisconsin will not be allowed.
Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have experience:
• Conducting systems analysis and configuring third-party software/applications
• Collecting and analyzing data and business/user requirements, drawing conclusions, and recommending solutions
• Developing applications using SQL,T-SQL, or PL/SQL
In addition to the above, well-qualified applicants will have experience:
• Developing applications in an Agile environment
• Using tools such as JIRA, GitLab, IntelliJ, Crystal Reports
