Job description

Another Chicago Magazine is currently seeking a volunteer Fiction Editor.

The Fiction Editor is responsible for managing a small team of readers who review submissions, provide feedback, and send timely responses. They will report to the Managing Editor and collaborate on selecting fiction for publication, as well as assist with screening and onboarding readers as needed.

The ideal candidate has experience as an editor at a literary magazine, is highly communicative, and is familiar with a wide range of contemporary short fiction styles and techniques. We also prefer candidates with a publication history, such as a novel, a short story collection, or multiple publications in reputable literary magazines.

This is a remote, volunteer position requiring approximately 15–30 hours per month.
