Key Responsibilities

The Licensed Mental Health Therapist will be entrusted with various responsibilities to facilitate effective trauma recovery:

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate individual patient histories and develop tailored treatment strategies.
• Create and implement individualized treatment plans that focus on each patient’s unique needs and resilience-building efforts.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to address trauma.
• Lead individual and group therapy sessions designed to help clients process traumatic events, develop coping mechanisms, and promote holistic healing.
• Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and healthcare teams to provide integrated and comprehensive care to patients.
• Offer crisis intervention services to support clients facing trauma-related emergencies, ensuring safety and stabilization.
• Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, healthy coping strategies, and community resources available for continued support.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient documentation in adherence to HIPAA regulations and ethical standards.
• Participate in case consultations and join professional development activities focused on trauma-informed care practices.
• Stay abreast of advancements and best practices in trauma therapy to continually enhance service delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position uniquely targets individuals coping with trauma-related challenges. Our therapists will primarily work with clients experiencing PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders, providing a therapeutic approach that respects the complexities of their experiences. By fostering a compassionate and supportive therapeutic relationship, our therapists play a crucial role in helping clients achieve meaningful progress in their recovery journeys.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications to excel in this role:

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Georgia.
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure clinical experience, preferably in trauma-focused therapies.
• Thorough understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment methodologies.
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and listening skills, with a compassionate, non-judgmental demeanor.
• Ability to remain composed and effective in high-stress situations while managing crisis interventions.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and familiar with standard computer applications used in mental health practices.
• A collaborative spirit, thriving in a multidisciplinary team-oriented environment.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, the following experiences will enhance a candidate's fit for this position:

• Hands-on experience conducting trauma-focused therapies, including EMDR and TF-CBT.
