About the Role

We are seeking a Linux System Administrator to support the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and patching of critical enterprise infrastructure. This is a hands-on operations-focused role ideal for candidates with experience supporting production Linux environments and enterprise applications.

The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing infrastructure support activities, system maintenance, patch management, and virtualization administration while ensuring the stability and availability of business-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and support Linux server environments.
  • Perform routine operational tasks and system maintenance activities.
  • Execute scheduled patching and maintenance activities.
  • Monitor system health and respond to operational alerts.
  • Manage VMware virtual infrastructure, including:
    • Starting and stopping virtual machines
    • Creating and deleting snapshots
    • Creating and deleting virtual machines
    • Reviewing alerts and basic performance metrics
  • Support Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments, including:
    • Managing compute instances
    • Creating and managing snapshots
    • Starting, stopping, creating, and deleting instances
  • Utilize Bash scripting to support automation and operational efficiencies.
  • Support configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible or SaltStack.
  • Participate in after-hours maintenance and patching activities as required.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience supporting Linux servers in a production environment.
  • Intermediate Linux administration skills.
  • Intermediate Bash scripting experience.
  • Experience working with VMware virtualization technologies.
  • Experience with Ansible and/or SaltStack.
  • Basic to intermediate experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting SAP environments.
  • Experience supporting Oracle ERP or JD Edwards environments.
  • Experience using the gcloud CLI to administer GCP resources.
  • Experience supporting critical business infrastructure and enterprise applications.
