Job Title: Dedicated Support Engineer (DSE) / Rocky Linux Consultant
Job Summary:
SME for Architecture in Linux Red Hat
Role: Dedicated Support Engineer - Rocky Linux Infrastructure (Advisory).
Duration: 6 months (8 hours a week)
Experience: Minimum 10-12+ overall years Centos Red Hat "Fedora"
Role Summary
  • Senior Rocky Linux infrastructure advisor providing proactive, strategic guidance
  • Focus on performance, stability, security, and operational excellence
  • Advisory-only role (no hands-on implementation or system administration)

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess Rocky Linux environments and identify optimization opportunities
  • Provide recommendations for compute, storage, and network configurations on Rocky Linux platforms
  • Analyzes the client system and storage performance and suggest Rocky Linux tuning strategies
  • Advise on capacity planning and resource utilization for Rocky Linux systems
  • Recommend operational best practices and incident prevention strategies
  • Guide on automation and workflow optimization in Rocky Linux environments
  • Provide patch management, security hardening, and OS lifecycle planning guidance for Rocky Linux
  • Review documentation and deliver knowledge transfer sessions
  • Prepare written recommendation reports and KPI tracking
  • Participate in regular customer advisory and review sessions

Role Boundaries
  • No hands-on configuration or remediation
  • No system administration or production changes
  • No staff augmentation or 24/7 operational support

Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with Rocky Linux (mandatory)
  • Enterprise Linux experience (RHEL / CentOS) strongly preferred
  • Solid knowledge of Rocky Linux OS internals and administration concepts
  • Understanding of compute, storage, and networking fundamentals
  • Experience with Linux performance and stability analysis
  • Knowledge of patching, security hardening, and OS lifecycle management on Rocky Linux
  • Ability to produce clear technical recommendations and documentation
  • Strong customer-facing communication and advisory skills
  • Senior-level experience in enterprise infrastructure environments

Preferred
  • Rocky Linux / RHEL certifications (RHCE/RHCSA or equivalent)
  • Experience in consulting or advisory roles
