Responsibilities
The IT Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting the organization's IT infrastructure and enterprise systems. This role requires a skilled technical professional with hands-on experience in Linux, Windows, Network, Cloud technologies, cybersecurity best practices, and troubleshooting complex technical issues. The ideal candidate is proactive, collaborative, and capable of supporting both day-to-day operations, strategic IT initiatives, service delivery, and maintaining positive client and vendor relationships.
Work closely with managed service providers (MSP) to develop and deliver complete Linux, Windows and cloud architecture solutions with ability to resolve complex issues in creative, efficient, and effective ways.
Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the overall Linux, Backup and Disaster Recovery (DR) technologies in public/private cloud, day-to-day operations including asset inventory, configuration management, security controls, systems health, and third-party infrastructure app integrations
  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
  • Analyze current business and technology practices, user needs, and workflow processes for improvement
  • Work with MSP on supporting Global IT
  • Represent the team as a participating member of designated committees
  • Serve as a subject matter expert associated with content, processes, and procedures associated with Infrastructure systems
  • Participate in 24x7 on call rotation and be available for after-hours support as needed
  • Participate in enterprise disaster recovery exercises

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of Linux, Windows and Cloud Systems Engineering work experience with extensive knowledge and familiarity with various Linux distros in Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Alibaba Cloud with DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SFTP, PAM, SMB/NFS FileShare, Postfix, scripting, etc.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with administration of AD, Entra ID, Intune, Copilot Studio (AI), Power Automate
  • Experience with Networking Technologies such as Palo Alto Prisma Cloud
  • Experience with Privilege Access Management (PAM) tools such as Centrify, Secret Server, Privilege Control for Servers
  • Experience with primarily Linux and Windows system administration roles in Azure, OCI, On-prem hosting with Deployment, Administration, Maintenance and Security CIS benchmarks, patching, troubleshooting, monitoring, right sizing etc.
  • Experience in backup of servers and systems including DR drills and in a multi-cloud environment with extensive documentation
  • Willing to utilize Automation tools such as Terraform, Azure DevOps, Ansible, Foreman etc.
  • Knowledge of service management frameworks such as ITIL utilizing ServiceNow
  • Understanding/Knowledge of global security frameworks and standards like CGMP, HIPAA, CIS, NIST, FIPS
  • Experience in Systems Infrastructure design and architecture for large Healthcare Manufacturing Enterprise
  • Industry certifications preferred but not required: MCAAA, MCAF, MCASEA, VCP, CCNA-RS, OCI-DP, OCI-SCP, ACA, ACP, ACE, AWS SAA, AWS SAP, RHCSA, OCP and ITIL
