This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Usability Engineer - User Science based in Netherlands.

Join a forward-thinking design environment where user research, technical innovation, and product development come together to shape exceptional digital experiences. In this role, you will help establish scalable user science practices that influence products, engineering processes, and organizational decision-making. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, you will transform complex user data into meaningful insights that drive product improvements. You'll have the opportunity to experiment with research methods, build lightweight tools, and advocate for evidence-based design across technical teams. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys combining analytical thinking, creativity, and technical curiosity in a collaborative, remote-first environment with international exposure.

Accountabilities
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative user research using methodologies such as usability testing, user interviews, surveys, A/B testing, and data analysis to generate actionable insights.
  • Analyze and synthesize research findings into clear reports, visualizations, and presentations tailored to a variety of technical and business stakeholders.
  • Develop lightweight prototypes, dashboards, automation scripts, or research tools that improve the accessibility and scalability of user research.
  • Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and process teams to integrate user-centered insights into product development and decision-making.
  • Help establish and improve research operations by creating repeatable methodologies, documentation, standards, and knowledge-sharing frameworks.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning by contributing to user science initiatives, educational resources, and cross-functional advocacy for research best practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Engineering, Data Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience through an alternative career path.
  • Proven experience conducting both qualitative and quantitative user research across multiple methodologies.
  • Strong analytical abilities with experience interpreting research data and translating findings into practical product recommendations.
  • Technical aptitude with the ability to understand engineering concepts and collaborate effectively with highly technical teams.
  • Experience building research workflows, frameworks, or operational improvements that increase efficiency and consistency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to different audiences.
  • A portfolio demonstrating user research, design, engineering, or related projects that showcase innovation, experimentation, and measurable impact.
  • Experience with Linux, cloud technologies, container platforms, Python-based data analysis tools, open-source projects, or visual design principles is considered an advantage.
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation based on location, experience, skills, and expertise.
  • Potential eligibility for annual bonuses or additional performance-based incentives.
  • Fully remote working environment with long-established distributed collaboration practices.
  • Annual learning and development budget of USD $2,000.
  • Annual compensation reviews.
  • Employee recognition and reward programs.
  • Generous annual leave and parental leave policies.
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).
  • International travel opportunities to attend collaborative company events and team gatherings.
