This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Project Engineer II based in Netherlands.

This role is responsible for delivering secure, reliable, and scalable technology solutions that support client success.
The position combines hands-on engineering expertise with project ownership, requiring the implementation of Microsoft cloud, infrastructure, and security solutions.
You will work closely with clients, project teams, and technical stakeholders to execute complex technology initiatives from planning through completion.
The role offers the opportunity to strengthen organizations' security posture, improve operational efficiency, and drive technology transformation.
You will contribute to consulting engagements by troubleshooting challenges, creating documentation, and ensuring long-term solution stability.

Accountabilities

The Project Engineer II will independently manage and execute technology projects while ensuring successful delivery, quality standards, and strong client outcomes. The role requires a balance of technical implementation, project coordination, documentation, and proactive problem-solving.

  • Lead the implementation of client technology projects, ensuring alignment with project scope, timelines, quality expectations, and business objectives.
  • Configure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot Microsoft cloud, security, endpoint management, and infrastructure technologies, including Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, Defender, Sentinel, Purview, and Entra ID.
  • Implement Microsoft security and compliance solutions focused on endpoint protection, identity security, threat detection, monitoring, and data governance.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients throughout project planning, implementation, troubleshooting, and final handoff.
  • Support security improvement initiatives by implementing configuration changes, security policies, and technology enhancements.
  • Create and maintain accurate technical documentation, including implementation notes, knowledge base articles, and as-built documentation.
  • Identify technical risks, security gaps, and process improvement opportunities while recommending effective solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to internal teams to improve project delivery capabilities.
  • Ensure completed solutions meet client expectations and contribute to long-term operational reliability and security.
  • Maintain strong project performance through accurate time tracking, documentation quality, and client satisfaction.
Requirements

The ideal candidate is a technically skilled IT professional with experience delivering infrastructure and Microsoft-focused projects in consulting, managed services, or client environments. Strong communication skills, customer focus, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential.

  • 3-5 years of experience implementing and supporting IT infrastructure and Microsoft technology projects.
  • Experience working with distributed or remote teams in a collaborative environment.
  • Hands-on experience deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting Microsoft cloud, security, endpoint, and infrastructure solutions.
  • Experience implementing Microsoft security technologies such as Microsoft Intune, Defender, Sentinel, Purview, and Entra ID security features.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced consulting or project-based environment.
  • Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting abilities, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Strong customer service mindset and ability to manage technical discussions with stakeholders.
  • Experience with Microsoft security and compliance solutions, including:
    • Microsoft Intune deployment, endpoint management, and configuration.
    • Microsoft Defender security management and endpoint protection.
    • Microsoft Sentinel monitoring, security analytics, and threat detection.
    • Microsoft Purview compliance and information protection.
    • Entra ID security features, including Conditional Access, MFA, Identity Protection, and access management policies.
  • Experience with Microsoft cloud and productivity platforms, including Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange Online, and migration tools such as BitTitan.
  • Knowledge of Windows infrastructure technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Hyper-V, and storage solutions.
  • Familiarity with additional infrastructure technologies such as networking, firewalls, wireless solutions, endpoint management platforms, and server deployments.
  • Preferred experience working with Managed Service Providers (MSPs), PSA platforms such as ConnectWise, and RMM tools such as ConnectWise Automate or Kaseya.
  • Preferred certifications include:
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
    • Microsoft 365 Administrator (MS-102)
    • Microsoft Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD-102)
    • Microsoft Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200)
    • Microsoft Information Protection Administrator Associate (SC-400)
    • Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100)
    • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
    • Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE 4) or equivalent
    • VMware Certified Technical Associate (VCTA) or VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
    • Microsoft Intune or endpoint management certifications
    • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+

Additional requirements include:

  • Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM PST.
  • Availability of a professional home office setup, including:
    • Computer with minimum 8GB RAM and compatible Windows or macOS specifications.
    • Stable internet connection with at least 5 Mbps upload and download speeds.
    • Noise-canceling headset.
    • HD webcam.
    • Smartphone capable of running Microsoft Authenticator.
    • Second monitor.
    • UPS backup when using a desktop computer.
  • Ability to successfully complete online behavioral and cognitive assessments.
