Job description

At DC Structures, we design and build architecturally distinctive homes, barns, barndominiums, and legacy properties across the Western U.S. We’re looking for a high-performing Interior Designer who thrives at the intersection of luxury residential design, visualization, and construction execution.

This is not a traditional interior design role. We’re looking for someone who can help shape the full client experience, from concept and visualization through selections, documentation, and construction collaboration.

You’ll work alongside our architectural, structural, sales, and construction teams to create spaces that feel elevated, intentional, and deeply connected to the way our clients live.

The ideal candidate is highly creative, technically strong, detail-obsessed, and passionate about luxury residential design, materials, architecture, and emerging visualization technology.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead client discovery meetings to understand lifestyle, goals, aesthetic preferences, and investment priorities
  • Develop luxury interior concepts, mood boards, finish palettes, and presentation materials
  • Create highly visual client experiences using advanced rendering and visualization tools
  • Produce interior elevations, space planning, lighting plans, and detailed design documentation
  • Collaborate closely with our architectural and structural design teams throughout the design process
  • Specify high-end finishes, fixtures, furnishings, appliances, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and materials
  • Coordinate selections and purchasing support during preconstruction and active construction phases
  • Work with vendors, consultants, contractors, and project managers to ensure design intent is executed properly
  • Assist with estimating, bid coordination, and pre-project planning
  • Maintain accurate customer selection files, drawings, specifications, and internal project systems
  • Stay ahead of trends in luxury residential design, hospitality design, wellness spaces, visualization technology, and AI-driven design workflows
  • Contribute to the evolution of our internal design standards and client experience

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in luxury residential interior design, architectural interiors, or design-build environments
  • Strong portfolio showcasing high-end residential projects and visual storytelling
  • Advanced proficiency in:
    • Revit
    • Enscape
    • Lumion
  • Experience with:
    • Construction documentation
    • Interior detailing
    • Material and finish specifications
    • Luxury appliance and fixture selection
    • Rendering and client presentation workflows
  • Strong understanding of architecture, spatial planning, and residential construction methods
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across teams
  • Exceptional communication, organization, and presentation skills
  • Passion for design excellence, innovation, and creating memorable client experiences

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience in custom homes, hospitality, wellness, or mountain-modern design
  • Knowledge of AI-assisted design tools and workflows
  • Familiarity with Chief Architect, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or Twinmotion
  • Experience working in design-build firms or integrated project delivery environments

Why Join DC Structures?

You’ll have the opportunity to help shape some of the most unique residential and recreational projects in the country while working with a highly creative and collaborative team.

We’re building more than structures — we’re building experiences, brands, and legacy properties.

Benefits

  • Medical, Dental & Vision coverage with low premiums for employees and eligible dependents
  • SIMPLE IRA with company match up to 3%
  • Health FSA & Dependent Care FSA
  • Supplemental Benefits:
    • Life Insurance
    • Accident Insurance
    • Short-Term Disability
    • Critical Illness
    • Cancer Indemnity
  • Paid Holidays
  • Paid Time Off
  • Opportunity to work on nationally recognized luxury residential projects
  • Collaborative, creative, and growth-oriented culture
  • Access to cutting-edge design technology and visualization tools

Ideal Candidate Profile

This role is best suited for someone who:

  • Loves luxury residential architecture and interiors
  • Obsesses over details and materials
  • Thinks both creatively and technically
  • Enjoys collaborating with architects, builders, and clients
