Business Objects Engineer

Our team is looking for a highly motivated engineering resource who has the passion and skills to complement a small, highly Agile team that designs, builds and supports non-IT enterprise systems for our Microsoft Services business. Specifically, this role will own the definition, creation and maintenance of core Business Objects and stored procedures for a mission-critical Azure system. However, this role will be core to the entire program portfolio, participating in trainings, UI/UX design, requirements, testing and support as needed.

The successful candidate will have very high knowledge of Microsoft tools and technologies and a prior experience in projects implementing O365 and Azure solutions. The position requires demonstrated ability to influence teams through written and interpersonal communications, working with offshore and local teams, and experience driving for results in a highly matrixed team dynamic.

The ideal candidate would be located in Cleveland, Ohio.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead design and development of Business Objects and associated stored procedures supporting an Azure/HTML5 business system
  • Participate as part of an engineering team to identify, contribute, and deliver needed tasks/features/solutions.
  • Partner closely with our Chief Architect and Feature Architect on system design and development
  • SQL database design and maintenance
  • Team with offshore and onshore development partners
  • Contribute materially to SDLC of development work-stream, overall system architecture, design, and testing
  • Contribute materially to overarching portfolio of program work-streams

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related
  • Should have at least 5+ years of experience supporting SQL Server, custom application development for .Net in C#, and Web Services
  • At least 1 year working experience in Windows Azure and SQL Database (SQL Azure)
  • Demonstrated experience in business object development and testing
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing SQL Server DB, including Transact SQL
  • Working knowledge of Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server
  • Demonstrated experience in Agile development environments

Prefer

  • Demonstrated experience leading and collaborating with offshore and remote teams
  • Experience with XML, XSLT, SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server Reporting Services highly desirable
