• Conduct thorough assessments to gather client histories and identify their therapeutic needs, subsequently crafting personalized treatment plans.
• Facilitate one-on-one counseling sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and solution-focused interventions tailored to individual client circumstances.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of health professionals to create a holistic approach to client care, ensuring all available resources are utilized to support client welfare.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records through our electronic medical records system, ensuring compliance with ethical and legal standards.
• Provide crisis intervention to clients in acute distress, assessing their safety and offering immediate support.
• Engage in regular meetings and supervision to share insights, address challenges, and contribute to program development and improvement.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, research, and best practices to refine your therapeutic techniques and enhance client outcomes.

You will work with a diverse client population, addressing a wide range of mental health issues, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship difficulties. Our clients come from varied backgrounds, and as such, cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse experiences and identities are essential in your role as a mental health counselor.

• A Master’s degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Maryland.

• At least two years of experience working with individuals facing emotional and mental health challenges is preferred, though not mandatory.
• Demonstrated ability to connect with clients through excellent interpersonal skills and a genuine commitment to fostering therapeutic relationships.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is advantageous and can streamline patient documentation and management.
• A record of providing effective counseling services that demonstrate positive client outcomes, including managing crisis situations effectively.

As a full-time Mental Health Counselor at Good Life Psychological Services, you can expect an annual salary range of USD 115,000 to 130,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
