Job description

Description

At Commence, we're the start of a new age of data-centric transformation, elevating health outcomes and powering better, more efficient process to program and patient health. We combine quality data-driven solutions that fuel answers, technology that advances performance, and clinical expertise that builds trust to create a more efficient path to quality care.

With human-centered, healthcare-relevant, and value-based solutions, we create new possibilities with data. We provide proof beyond the concept and performance beyond the scope with a focus on efficiencies that transform the lives of those we serve. With a culture driven by purpose, straightforward communication and clinical domain expertise, Commence cuts straight to better care.

Requirements

The Pricing & Proposal Specialist supports the Commence commercial growth team from qualified opportunity to signed contract. This role owns two things: building competitive pricing that wins deals and producing the proposal documents and commercial agreements that close them.

You will work directly with account executives and commercial leadership to develop rough orders of magnitude, formal pricing models, and final proposals across Commence's target markets. You will also own the commercial contract templates, Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and Statements of Work (SOWs) that underpin every deal the team closes. The right candidate is commercially oriented, detail-driven, and understands that accuracy and speed both matter when a deal is in motion.

Pricing & Financial Modeling

  • Develop rough orders of magnitude (ROMs) for early-stage opportunities to give the sales team a credible pricing anchor for initial buyer conversations
  • Build formal pricing models for active deals incorporating platform fees, services, implementation costs, and margin targets that hold up in a buyer negotiation
  • Evaluate and develop new strategic pricing structures as Commence scales, including subscription, consumption-based, and outcome-based models relevant to payer and provider markets
  • Provide scenario analyses and pricing alternatives during negotiations to protect margin without stalling deals

Proposal Development

  • Own the development of commercial proposals from outline through final deliverable for sales opportunities
  • Collaborate with account executives, SMEs, and technical leads to build proposals that map Commence's platform capabilities to the specific needs of each buyer
  • Maintain a proposal content library of reusable solution narratives, capability summaries, and differentiators that reduce cycle time and improve consistency
  • Manage proposal timelines and coordinate internal contributors to meet deadlines without pulling account executives off active selling

Commercial Contract Support

  • Support contract redlines and negotiations in coordination with legal and contracts, keeping deal timelines moving and commercial terms accurately reflected
  • Maintain a clean library of executed contract templates that gives the sales team a reliable, current starting point for every new engagement

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in pricing, proposal development, deal desk, sales operations, or a commercial support role in a B2B technology or services environment
  • Ability to independently build pricing models in Excel, cost build-ups, margin analysis, and scenario modeling
  • Experience owning commercial proposals end-to-end, from intake through submission
  • Working familiarity with MSAs, SLAs, and SOWs and able to draft from templates and identify when terms need legal review
  • Clear, precise written communication
  • Organized and deadline-driven with the ability to manage multiple active deals simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare technology, B2B SaaS, or commercial healthcare services
  • Familiarity with payer, provider, or program integrity market buying processes
  • Experience with proposal management or CPQ tools
