Job description

Job Title:- Oracle APEX Developer

Location:- Texas (REMOTE)

Job Type:- Long Term Contract

10% travel to either Houston or Dallas Office

Only local to Texas Consultants

Responsibilities:

We are currently seeking a Senior Analyst for Oracle eBusiness Systems, release R12.2.10+.  This person will work effectively under minimal supervision and provide technical support for developing and supporting customizations and extensions covering modules in Finance or Oracle Projects applications. This position will support our business users, participate in all relevant changes management activities, and overall service delivery and customer satisfaction. This will require interaction with core business users and the need to work as a team member of a large Oracle support team. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides technical development and support for Oracle eBusiness Systems Modules.
  • Collaborates with customers to ascertain system specifications and business/technical requirements to create spec documents that meet their needs.
  • Conducts effective user demonstrations and training of the application features.
  • Document functional and technical designs, providing clarity on roles and data flow between the systems or within the application modules.
  • Responsible for completion of all required Change Management tasks and relevant SOX control requirements (if applicable).
  • Utilize industry accepted project management principles, methodologies, tools, and best practices throughout the project life cycle.
  • Acquire and utilizes business knowledge by taking advantage of available resources (internet, books, periodicals, classes/workshops, conferences, etc.) to develop and deliver business expertise solutions.
  • Tracking deliverable and provide reporting to management as needed.
  • Good team player who steps up, shows initiation and shares learning and experience with the team.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • At least five years of experience programming extensions and customizations in Oracle Finance and/or Oracle Projects using release 12.2+ is required.
  • 5+ years of Oracle Apex UI development experience is required.
  • Experience programming custom workflows using Oracle Workflow Builder is required.
  • Must have experience using and configuring systematic approvals using Approvals Management Engine (AME).
  • Experience working in a multi-developer, team environment is preferred.

Top daily priorities/responsibilities: 

A typical day of the applicant involves collaborating with the customers, understand and document the system requirements, document system design, configurations required to implement the solution, develop new screens (including nested workflow screens using Apex), or modify existing screens to extend functionality, build business approval rules to integrate workflow using AME attributes, conditions, action types, approval groups and rules including serial and parallel approval processes.  The applicant will conduct demonstrations of the system feature to show progress and incorporate feedback from the stakeholders. The applicant uses his/her knowledge of Oracle Application Object Library routines and methods, adjust application menus, modify responsibility definitions, creates or enhances concurrent program definitions and the business logic included in those programs to build a custom solution involving complex approval processes. The applicant creates or adjusts training document or prepares training videos to navigate through the system processes and assist department users during testing.

Candidates who are likely to succeed in this role have programming, support and configuration experience in AME (Approvals Management Engine), programming complex Apex transaction screens in an EBS on-prem environment and has extended or supported Oracle workflow approvals involving (but not limited to) Accounts Payable Invoice Approvals, General Ledger Journal approvals, iExpense approval processes. The candidate is aware of the complexities involved with delegations, adhoc role creation based on job titles, AOL responsibilities.

Candidates who do not have extensive programming experience in Apex, AME and Oracle Workflow need not apply. Candidates who have built dashboards using Apex and have little or no exposure to transaction processing using Apex need not apply. Techno functional consultants who have not worked in an R12.2+ on-prem environment in the past one year need not apply. Candidates with most of the experience in database administration, system administration, patching, who have been a liaison between business and IT teams, less knowledgeable on data flow between sub ledgers and general ledger, and less experienced with end-to-end system processes need not apply.
