Job description

The Destinations Way

Position only open to candidates in Utah at this time. All other candidates will be automatically declined.

Travel is not just what we do. It is who we are. We believe memories motivate, and one of the best ways to make life-long memories is through travel. With that in mind, we strive to craft the most memorable and motivating travel experiences for our clients and their guests. The experience of a trip does not start when you walk into the hotel, but with the sales process. The sales team tees up a program to be successful. This is not lip service; we live to guide clients through all aspects of a successful trip so they can sit back and soak up the sun and get the credit for a 5-star travel experience.

What Youโ€™ll Do

As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you'll be the engine behind our sales pipeline: identifying, qualifying, and nurturing leads that set our Global Sales Managers (GSMs) up to close deals. This is a high-impact, front-line role for someone who thrives on building relationships, solving problems, and moving fast.

You are the spark that gets our sales engine started - finding the right people, sparking the right conversations, and handing off leads that are ready to go.

Key Responsibilities
  • Find new clients who do amazing group travel.

  • Prospect for new business by researching companies and individuals that match Destinations' ideal customer profile, identifying key contacts, and building targeted outreach lists.

  • Initiate contact with potential clients through cold calling, emailing, and social networking (e.g., LinkedIn, industry events, etc.) to generate interest in Destinations' group travel programs.

  • Qualify inbound and outbound business opportunities by uncovering each client's program objectives, destination needs, budget, timeline, and overall event requirements.

  • Nurture leads who are a good fit but not yet ready for a full proposal by providing valuable resources and consistent follow-up via email and social media.

  • Book qualified meetings for Global Sales Managers (GSMs) and thoroughly prep them beforehand, including the prospect's background, needs, budget, and expectations.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all prospecting, qualification, and nurturing activity in the CRM.

  • Increase sales pipeline velocity by keeping a steady flow of qualified leads moving toward GSMs, shortening the overall sales cycle.

  • Become the โ€œGo-To Guideโ€ regarding vendors and travel options.

  • Represent Destinations at vendor and client networking events when possible.

What we will love about YOU
  • You do not shy away from ownership - you know what needs to be done and do what is necessary to get it done. You are a self-starter who does not need to be told what needs to be done.

  • You are relaxed, realizing that the only constant in business is change. You embrace it, you create it, and you drive it.

  • You are never done learning and always seek to grow personally, professionally, and as part of the team.

  • Cold outreach doesn't intimidate you - calls, emails, and LinkedIn are just part of your toolkit.

  • You have strong research skills and an eye for detail when profiling prospects.

  • You are self-motivated, organized, and able to manage a high volume of outreach activity.

  • You communicate effectively and kindly with team members, clients, and vendors.

  • You think, plan, and act with a long-term, big-picture mindset.

  • You have 1-2 years of experience in a sales, business development, or customer-facing role (internship experience considered); B2B sales or hospitality/event-planning experience is a big plus.

  • You have a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, hospitality, or a related field preferred (high school diploma or equivalent required).

  • You're comfortable with CRM software and Google G Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides).

  • You have a workspace at home that is free of distractions, has speedy internet, and lets you show up professional and camera-ready.

What you will love about US
  • Core Values/Culture: We believe in a set of core values that we not only live by but hold each other accountable to.

  • Remote work. Work from where youโ€™d like while crushing your job responsibilities.

  • Benefits (for full-time employees): Generous Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), unlimited PTO, etc.

  • Training and Education: We believe you should be the very best version of yourself. We offer in-house training not only pertaining to your role and our industry, but also to personal development.

  • Growth: A front-line seat in a growing sales team, with a clear path to make a real impact on the pipeline and revenue.

Because our team members are trusted to handle sensitive information, we require all candidates who receive and accept employment offers to complete a background check before being hired.
