Job description

Title: Cloud Architect
Location: Wisconsin (Remote - WI Residents Only / Must Relocate Before Start)
Duration: 12 Months

Responsibilities
Executive Advisory & Engineering
  • Serve as the primary technical advisor to the CISO.
  • Translate federal cybersecurity mandates, AI threats, and enterprise architecture gaps into actionable security strategies.
  • Provide hands-on engineering support while mentoring internal infrastructure and security teams.
  • Lead technical knowledge transfer through pair engineering and live demonstrations.
Flaw Remediation (SI-2) Implementation
  • Design and implement automated SI-2 compliance processes.
  • Build automated tracking, logging, reporting, and validation mechanisms.
  • Develop secure deployment architectures using containers, cloud-native technologies, and virtualized images.
  • Integrate security scanning, dependency management, and automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
AI & Security Automation
  • Implement Gemini Government, Google Codemender (or equivalent), and AI-assisted cybersecurity workflows.
  • Build automated data pipelines integrating:
    • Tenable.io
    • Google Mandiant ASM
    • Microsoft Azure Arc
    • Google SecOps
    • Splunk
  • Ensure all AI solutions comply with State privacy, logging, and data classification requirements.
Governance & Automation
  • Develop automated exception management workflows.
  • Implement approval processes tied to compensating controls and technical debt tracking.
  • Configure automated executive escalation processes for critical security risks.
Knowledge Transfer
  • Mentor State engineering teams through hands-on collaboration.
  • Develop automation playbooks, documentation, and operational procedures.
  • Ensure long-term sustainability through technical training and transition planning.

Required Skills & Experience
Must Have (Large Enterprise / Complex Environment)
  • Proven experience serving as a trusted technical advisor to CISOs, CIOs, or senior executive leadership.
  • Experience mentoring infrastructure and cybersecurity teams using a hands-on, teach-by-doing approach.
  • Expertise implementing and operationalizing security controls, including:
    • SI-2 standards
    • Tiered vulnerability management
    • Compensating controls
    • Risk governance
  • Strong Cloud Architecture and DevSecOps Engineering experience.
  • Experience with enterprise cybersecurity technologies including:
    • Google Threat Intelligence / VirusTotal
    • Google SecOps
    • Google Mandiant ASM
    • Tenable.io
    • Microsoft Azure Arc
    • GitHub
    • GitHub Advanced Security
    • Ansible Tower
    • Gemini / Anthropic AI security frameworks
