 Litigation Paralegal Experienced
Ideal candidate must have strong 5 years + Florida Personal Injury background, able to handle litigation cases from opening to closing, proficient in e-filing, able to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks, must be a team player, but able to work with minimal supervision, manage own time effectively, maintain control over all current projects/responsibilities, follow up on all relevant issues, reliable and able to work under pressure. 
 Litigation Paralegal Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Research and analyze law sources such as Florida statutes, court rules and procedures to prepare and draft routine legal documents such as complaints, interrogatories, motions, briefs, pleadings, appeals, etc. for review and use by attorney.
  • Compile and prepare draft pleadings and discovery responses.
  • Categorize and interpret data; review and analyze reports, responses and records produced by opposing counsel.
  • Coordinate requests between multiple parties involved in litigation by way of consistent communication with client, claims and full partnership with attorney through end of case. 
 Day-to-Day Duties:

  • Opening cases in Trial Works.
  • Prepare, organize, and file documents and correspondence.
  • Request medical records and bills.
  • Conduct legal research.
  • Draft Summons and Complains, Motions, Pleadings, Discovery, Notices of Depositions, Notices of Hearings, Subpoenas, Request for Copies, Agreed Orders, etc.
  • Update and maintain internal databases.
  • Prepare witness and other materials for case preparation.
  • Organize relevant documents for attorney review and case preparation.
  • Trial prep.
  • Process invoices, check requests for medical facilities and vendors.
  • Correspondence with clients, doctors, experts, court reporters, opposing counsels, witnesses, courts etc.
  • Prepare and organize case for depositions, hearings, mediations and trials.
  • In preparation for deposition advise client, hire court reporter, confirm deposition dates.
  • Prepare, draft and E-file all court documents.
  • Calendar deadlines and court dates, follow up on deadlines, maintain calendar, schedule events.
  • Heavy data entry.
  • Organize Green folders (Settlement). 
Litigation Paralegal Required Skills: 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Resourceful research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks.
  • Self-check and follow up .
  • Knowledge of E-filing and PACER.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Litigation Paralegal is a must.
  • Certification or Degree as a Paralegal is required.
  • Experience with legal procedures, terminology, and the court system.

  • Excellent research and drafting skills.
  • Comfortable Microsoft Office and case management software.
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
