Job description

Civil litigation firm seeks a Junior Law and Motion Attorney to join our team. We
represent a variety of nationally recognized companies in the areas of Bodily Injury,
Transportation and Premises Liability. This is a great opportunity for attorneys looking to
grow their career and lay down some roots with our firm. We welcome candidates
throughout California and can offer in-office, hybrid, or fully remote work options. Our
firm works in a team-orientated environment with an excellent support structure.
Qualified applicants must possess excellent analytical and writing skills. The ability to
work in a team environment with a positive attitude is a must. This is a great ground
floor opportunity for the right candidate to grow with us. Candidates should be able to
work independently and possess 2+ years of law and motion work, preferably in civil
litigation experience. Salary is negotiable depending on level of experience.
JOB DUTIES: Draft and oppose motions ranging from simple ex applications to
complex motions for summary judgment. Work with trial motion attorneys. Work with
trial attorneys on case strategy. Research and write on emerging issues of law and
issues where there may not be clear authority. Meet and confer with opposing
counsel. Bring a team-oriented and positive attitude to our team.
QUALIFICATIONS: Licensed and in good standing with the California State
Bar. Superior writing skills. Ability to quickly identify relevant authority. Proficiency with
the Code of Civil Procedure and Evidence Code. Superior analytical and legal research
skills. Ability to identify key facts from discovery, deposition transcripts, and other
records and apply them to relevant case law. Proven track record of successfully
supporting and opposing dispositive motions. Ability to perform well in a fast-paced
environment.
