Job Description:

Reporting to the Director of Domestic Sales, the Principal, Airborne Law Enforcement (ALE) serves as the capture lead for ALE follow on and new business opportunities with responsibility for meeting financial performance commitments regarding L3Harris' WESCAM MX series precision optical sensors and targeting systems business. This position requires the individual to be capable of handling a broad range of competing priorities on a daily basis. The Principal, Airborne Law Enforcement will be responsible for selling company products, systems and/or services, and managing opportunities in all stages of the sales pipeline. He/she will also be responsible for providing marketing intelligence, developing business cases for market penetration, and executing capture strategies that maintain incumbency on existing programs and win new business. In addition, he/she will conduct sales presentations and marketing activities including participation in tradeshows, conferences, and product demonstrations.ย

Essential Functions:

  • Meet or exceeds annual sales targets as part of the domestic team by directing activities in the field to achieve sales goals in line with company growth plans.
  • Travels to customer locations domestically and represents division at trade shows. Travel is expected 50% annually.
  • Generates and increases a robust pipeline of sales opportunities in allocated portfolio.
  • Responsible for capturing customer requirements to influence L3Harris WESCAM design solutions and successfully selling MX-Series products and service plans to customers.
  • Promotes current product capability and recommends the development of products or product enhancements expected to result in profitable business growth.
  • Responsible for developing strategy for key pursuits focused on Electro-Optical Infrared sensor growth.
  • Identifies customer growth opportunities through the capture of new or adjacent business opportunitie
  • Stays engaged with and communicates with Program Managers and In Service Account Managers (ISAMs) as they direct the execution of existing business to ensure we "keep itย  ย sold" and position ourselves for follow-on business with existing customers
  • Responds to all customer Request for Quotations in a timely and efficient manner
  • Works towards resolution of customer issues and concerns.
  • Demonstrates ethical and professional behavior in accordance with company values.
  • All other assignments as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15 years experience in ALE or equivalent market area,ย airworthiness qualification and procurement, an optical, mechanical and / or electrical environment - previous law enforcement, military or federal agency experience using EOIR systems preferred.
  • Education - must have a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience or Graduate Degree with a minimum of 12 years prior related experience.ย 
  • 15+ years experience developing and executing strategies, working budgetary and capability requirements in a competitive USG and/or State environment.
  • United States Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:ย 

  • Security clearance preferred.
  • Business Development and/or Sales Account Management experience within last 5 years preferred.ย 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $146,000 - $271,000. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, and Vermont is $126,500 - $235,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, educationย assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.ย
