Remote Landscape Engineer information

What is a remote landscape engineer?

Remote landscape engineers are professionals who design, plan, and oversee the development of outdoor spaces such as parks, gardens, and recreational areas while working from a remote location. They use digital tools and software to create landscape plans, manage projects, and collaborate with clients and teams online. Their work often involves site analysis, environmental planning, and ensuring sustainable design, all accomplished through virtual communication and remote project management.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote landscape engineer?

To thrive as a Remote Landscape Engineer, you need a solid background in landscape architecture or civil engineering, often supported by a relevant degree and licensure. Familiarity with design software like AutoCAD, GIS systems, and remote collaboration tools is typically required. Strong communication, project management, and problem-solving abilities are essential soft skills for coordinating with clients and multidisciplinary teams from a distance. These skills and tools ensure the effective design and execution of landscape projects while maintaining productivity and collaboration in a remote work environment.

How does a remote landscape engineer effectively collaborate with on-site teams and clients?

As a Remote Landscape Engineer, collaboration is primarily facilitated through digital communication platforms, such as video calls, cloud-based project management tools, and shared design software. Regular virtual meetings with on-site teams and clients help ensure that project requirements and site-specific challenges are clearly understood. It's important to establish strong communication routines and leverage technology for sharing plans, conducting site assessments, and providing timely feedback. Building trust and maintaining transparency are key to successful remote teamwork in this role.

Job description

TrendAI, the global AI security leader and enterprise business unit of Trend Micro, empowers organizations with full AI visibility and consolidated security that inspires confidence, drives innovation, and eliminates risk.
At TrendAI, we're always seeking exceptional talent; people who want to collaborate with the best and push boundaries together. Here, your work goes beyond building a career. You will help protect what matters and play a vital role in shaping a safer, more trustworthy AI-powered future.
AI Fearlessly.

Location: Remote, US

Position Summary:

TrendAI is seeking a Principal Solutions Architect, AI to serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for our full AI Security portfolio. This individual owns the technical narrative and architecture strategy across three pillars - AI Infrastructure Security, AI Application Security, and AI Public-Facing Application Security - and works cross-functionally with sales, the Solutions Engineering bench, product management, and customers to drive technical wins and shape our AI security positioning in the market.

This is a high-visibility, field-facing architecture role for someone equally comfortable in a whiteboard session with a CISO and a hands-on PoC with an AI/ML engineering team.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary technical SME for AI Security across the US SE organization, supporting strategic opportunities end-to-end.

  • Architect and present solutions across the three AI security domains:

    • AI Infrastructure Security - securing model training/serving pipelines, GPU and cloud AI workloads, MLOps toolchains, and the underlying compute/data infrastructure.

    • AI Application Security - securing LLM-integrated applications, RAG pipelines, and agentic workflows against risks such as prompt injection, data poisoning, model theft, and insecure plugin/tool use.

    • AI Public Application Security - securing customer-facing AI applications and APIs (chatbots, copilots, public inference endpoints) against exposure, abuse, and data leakage.

  • Lead technical discovery, solution architecture, and proof-of-concept (PoC) engagements for top AI security opportunities.

  • Build and maintain reference architectures, demo environments, and reusable enablement content for the SE bench.

  • Deliver executive and technical-depth presentations to CISOs, security architects, and AI/ML engineering leaders.

  • Partner with Product Management to channel field and customer feedback into the AI security roadmap.

  • Track the competitive AI security landscape and maintain up-to-date positioning and battlecards.

  • Mentor and upskill SEs/SAs on AI security concepts, demo delivery, and objection handling.

  • Represent TrendAI externally at industry events, webinars, and analyst briefings on AI security.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years in security architecture, solutions engineering, or a related pre-sales/technical role.

  • Strong working knowledge of AI/ML system architecture, including model training/serving infrastructure, MLOps pipelines, and cloud AI services (AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, GCP Vertex AI, etc.).

  • Hands-on understanding of LLM application security risks (e.g., OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications) - prompt injection, jailbreaks, data poisoning, model extraction/theft.

  • Experience securing public-facing applications and APIs (API security, WAF, exposure management).

  • Familiarity with cloud security posture management (CSPM), CNAPP, or equivalent cloud-native security tooling.

  • Excellent executive presentation, communication, and technical storytelling skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Trend Vision One or a comparable XDR/CNAPP platform.

  • Security certifications (CISSP, GIAC, or cloud-specific security certifications).

  • Experience designing and running technical PoC/demo environments for AI security use cases.

  • Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks and protocols (LangChain, AutoGen, MCP, etc.).

  • Prior experience in a customer-facing solutions architecture or field CTO role.
