The Data Analyst supports data-driven decision making by designing, building, and enhancing reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions that provide clear, actionable insights. This role translates business requirements into well-structured datasets, SQL queries, and visualizations while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and usability of delivered analytics.
The analyst partners with business teams and senior BI staff to refine metric definitions, explore trends, validate findings, and proactively identify opportunities for performance improvement. The position also contributes to improving reporting standards, documentation, and data quality practices
The following are essential accountabilities:
Visualization & Reporting: Designs, develops, tests, and implements reports and dashboards using data from the warehouse. Ensure dashboards adhere to formatting and security standards
Data Engineering & SQL: Designs, develops, and optimizes SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data across systems. Ensures data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
Documentation & Standards: Defines and maintains metric definitions, functional designs, and business rules to ensure consistency and transparency. Ensures documentation remains current and aligned with evolving business processes, compliance standards, and stakeholder expectations.
Quality & Best Practices: Reviews code and BI solutions for accuracy, scalability, and maintainability
Collaboration & Influence: Engages in the full business intelligence development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, data extraction, BI object creation, user testing, and production deployment. Confirms that solutions align with business goals and technical standards.
Ability to work off-hours with occasional evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university preferably with an emphasis in Business, Statistics, Computer Science or Analytics.
Minimum Experience: 2 years in a data analysis/reporting role and/or 2 years of previous experience in BI tools and languages such as Tableau, Excel, Python, or SQL.
Preferred Experience: 4 years related experience. Proficiency in SQL development using cloud and relational databases. (SQL, Server, AWS, Snowflake). Experience with data visualization and storytelling.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
Ability to analyze complex datasets and distill insights into visualizations or actionable recommendations.
Strong communication skills (verbal, written, visual) with experience presenting to business partners.
Leverage Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban) to drive iterative development, enhance team collaboration, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality analytics solutions.
Ability to collaborate with others and thrive in a team environment while meeting individual goals and expectations.
Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI).
