Job description

Overview
This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States. Priority will be given to those candidates located in North Carolina or Arizona.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with expertise in the Pega Platform to drive the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-scale workflow, within CAB Technology. The ideal candidate must be a Pega Lead System Architect (LSA) and possess strong hands-on experience with Pega and understand enterprise application architecture. This role will partner with business and technology stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and innovative solutions while establishing technical standards and mentoring development teams.
Responsibilities
  • System Enhancement - Performs a variety of actions that evaluate and improve department systems, processes, and applications. Utilizes programming specifications to construct modules, develop testing methods, and design materials. Provides new feature time estimates for system changes and assists in implementing modifications. Executes test plans to validate application functions as designed.
  • Analysis - Collects data related to user requests and determines scope, time estimates, and system impacts. Inspects business specifications, programming specifications, coding, test plans, documentation, and implementation plans for accuracy.
  • Business Support - Provides technical support to production systems by addressing reported issues, anticipating maintenance requirements, and ensuring functionality for end user needs. Drafts documentation to be used for system, end user, and operational purposes, including technical specifications and application designs.
  • Technical Expertise - Responsible for complex involvement in the software development life cycle including the creation, enhancement, implementation, and evaluation of software. Serves as a technical resource for management, associates, and business units.
  • On-call Support - Provides 24/7 on-call support via rotations.
  • Stay current with emerging Pega capabilities, AI technologies, and industry best practices.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance
OR
High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Design, architect, and deliver enterprise-grade applications using the Pega Platform.
  • Serve as the technical lead for complex Pega implementations.
  • Design and implement AI-powered solutions leveraging Pega GenAI, Knowledge Buddy, Agentic AI, and related capabilities (Nice to Have).
  • Lead solution architecture, application design, and code reviews to ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Develop reusable frameworks, components, and enterprise design standards.
  • Integrate Pega applications with enterprise systems using REST, SOAP, messaging, and event-driven architectures.
  • Drive CI/CD implementation, DevOps best practices, automated testing, and release management.
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues and provide technical leadership for critical incidents.
  • Mentor and coach developers, Senior System Architects, and System Architects on Pega best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise security, governance, and regulatory standards.
