Synertex LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support a U.S. Federal Government Agency in McLean, Va/ Department of War
We are expanding work under an existing contract and are seeking a Software Engineer with full-stack web development experience to deliver innovative solutions, including AI-driven capabilities, that address the client's most critical needs. The ideal candidate will also have strong proficiency with open-source development tools and environments, particularly Linux and Python. This is a hybrid remote position (50% on site/50% work from home) with some on-site requirements that require a candidate to be within reasonable commutable distance to McLean, VA and/or the Pentagon.

Work within a team environment to develop a software-based platform that will facilitate rapid decision making and increase situational awareness across a variety of users, disciplines, and geographic locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Build robust, maintainable, well documented, and well tested enterprise-level applications.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with the customer and other team members. Including managers, data scientists, DevOps engineers, and other senior and junior/midlevel developers.
  • Work on developing / integrating / operationalizing full-stack advanced analytic web applications through the Authority to Operate (ATO) process on classified networks.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • 10+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Demonstrated depth of experience in Python application development, extending beyond basic scripting to the design and implementation of production-grade solutions.
  • Experience in full-stack web application development, preferably using Python and Django.
  • Comprehensive front-end development experience utilizing HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript frameworks or libraries such as Bootstrap, Tailwind, HTMX, Alpine.js, or comparable technologies.
  • Experience with containerization technologies, including Docker, Docker Compose, and/or Podman.
  • Knowledge and experience of classified government networks and hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including RDS Aurora, ECS and/or EKS, VPC, and Application Load Balancers (ALB).
  • Experience designing or working with serverless architectures/services.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, including AWS-native solutions such as CodeBuild and CodePipeline, as well as tools like GitHub Actions or comparable platforms.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), preferably using Terraform.
  • Proficiency working in Linux/UNIX environments.
  • Familiarity with Government ATO (Authority to Operate) processes, including compliance, approval, and deployment requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science.
  • Clearance required: TS/SCI with Polygraph.
