Summary
HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer to develop space combat power and multi-domain simulation software. This software will support force structure planning, Digital Test and Training - Synthetic Environment, Joint Combatant Command analysis and operations support, Space Force testing and training, and research and development of space systems. As a Software Engineer, you will be expected to maintain and manage workflow of junior engineers, in addition to leading projects under the Space Protection and Response Solution program.
What You Will Do
• Interacts with the team via Confluence, Discourse, GitLab, and Jira.
• Performs code reviews and ensures work quality remains high.
• Works with government leadership to keep the team on course.
• Works with customers to capture requirements and feedback.
• Updates status and presents progress to local leadership and customers.
• Conducts multidisciplinary research to support team development and modeling objectives.
• Contributes to broader team vision and direction discussions.
• Contributes to simulation software architecture discussions.
• Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs space simulation software.
What You Must Have
• 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
• Proficient in C++.
• Completion of a technical coding challenge in C++.
• Understands compiling, linking, and debugging of C++ applications.
• Experience in constructive agent-based, event-driven modeling and simulation.
• Basic space knowledge (e.g., coordinate systems, time, orbital propagation, etc.).
• Passion for problem-solving, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and agile development environment.
• Able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
Preferred Requirements
• Python proficiency including embedded Python applications.
• Space domain awareness knowledge.
• Space combat power knowledge.
• Math or physics background.
• Parallel software development knowledge.
