Wpromote is hiring a Junior Data Scientist who loves solving problems with data and has strong math, logic, and communication skills. In this role, you'll support data processing, model updates, and analytics reporting while learning advanced techniques that will grow your impact over time. You'll collaborate with teams across Engineering, Reporting, Product, Paid Media, and Data Science, working with exciting clients in e-commerce, retail, and entertainment. The anticipated annual salary for this role will range from $88,000 - $100,000, based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, years and depth of experience, education and certifications, competitive benchmarks, scope of responsibility, market dynamics, geographic location, and the respective state's salary threshold for exempt employees. At Wpromote, pay ranges are subject to change and are based on specific market medians for similar jobs according to third-party salary benchmark surveys. Individual pay within that range can vary due to skills, experience, and available budget. The total compensation package for this role will include benefits (listed above).
*This position may be performed remotely in most states within the US, with some exclusions

You Will Be
  • Learning to transform, improve, and integrate data according to business requirements
  • Planning and scoping end-to-end data analysis projects by identifying the business problem and selecting appropriate investigative tests and solutions
  • Using SQL and BigQuery to combine and prepare datasets from multiple sources
  • Delivering data in a clear, useful, and visually appealing way to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Maintaining existing media-mix models through directed retrains and reporting on performance changes
  • Organizing and collecting results from media-mix models, incrementality tests, clean rooms, and related analyses to support Wpromote's culture of learning
  • Conducting guided marketing analyses to support client and internal needs
  • Supporting presentations through data pulls, ad-hoc analyses, and slide creation
  • Learning to automate data gathering, blending, and transformation processes
  • Collaborating across Engineering, Reporting, Product, Paid Media, and Data Science teams to understand and support client needs

You Must Have
  • Intermediate programming skills in R or Python for data cleaning, data modeling, pipeline development, API calls, and related tasks
  • Experience with statistical modeling, machine learning techniques, and LLMs
  • Intermediate SQL skills, including window functions, stored procedures, views, triggers, unions, CTEs, subqueries, and debugging
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • Experience with at least one BI platform (Looker, Tableau, Power BI, etc.) with the ability to learn others; Looker preferred
  • Experience or familiarity with version control tools such as Git or Bitbucket
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance competing client requests and work with complex datasets while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
  • Intermediate to advanced competency in statistics, probability, and linear algebra
  • Strong communication skills, including experience creating and delivering presentations and executive summaries
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills-the ability to analyze numbers, trends, and data to form meaningful insights
  • Interest or passion for marketing analytics and/or a personal project portfolio
  • Associate's degree, bootcamp certification, or practical work experience in a quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Economics, Engineering, etc.)

Nice To Have
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field
  • Exposure to marketing analyses such as media-mix models (MMM), incrementality testing, CAC, and lead scoring
  • Experience with analytics software, such as Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics

  • Experience with cloud computing (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
