Job Title: PowerApps Automation Engineer
Clearance Required: U.S. Citizenship required (Public Trust eligibility preferred)
Work Location: Hybrid - Vienna, VA & Remote.

Alpha Omega is seeking a resourceful, PowerApps Automation Engineer who is excited to work across the Microsoft ecosystem and rapidly evolving AI/LLM technologies. You will help build intelligent automation solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio, and AI-driven workflows, supporting mission-critical applications and next-generation digital modernization efforts.

This role is ideal for someone who loves learning, experimenting, and building real automation—not just designing it. You will work closely with technical leadership across AI, cybersecurity automation, and enterprise modernization.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Design, develop, and deploy solutions using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, Power Fx).
  • Build Copilot-powered automations using Copilot Studio, AI Builder, and generative AI plugins.
  • Integrate LLMs, GPT-based models, vector search, and AI reasoning into Power Platform applications.
  • Work with business analysts and engineers to automate workflows, repetitive tasks, and compliance processes.
  • Create connectors, custom APIs, and integrations with Azure services (Functions, Logic Apps, OpenAI, Cognitive Search).
  • Build dashboards, forms, and automation pipelines supporting mission programs and enterprise operations.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging AI tools and Microsoft Copilot capabilities to enhance automation speed and accuracy.
  • Ensure solutions meet security, governance, and best practices within enterprise or federal environments.
  • Participate in Agile sprints, code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:

Required Experience/Skills:

  • 3–4 years of experience developing with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps + Power Automate required).
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Copilot Studio or integrating Copilot into enterprise workflows.
  • Strong understanding of Dataverse, Canvas apps, Model-driven apps, Power Fx, and automation design.
  • Experience building or consuming REST APIs; familiarity with JSON, OAuth, and Azure AD authentication.
  • Hands-on programming experience with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C# (for custom connectors/integrations).
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly learn new technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience integrating LLMs, OpenAI / Azure OpenAI, LangChain, or vector databases into automation workflows.
  • Background in RPA, business process automation, or NIST/RMF compliance tooling.
  • Experience in Azure cloud (Functions, Logic Apps, Cognitive Search, Storage, APIM).
  • Prior work within federal agencies or secure enterprise environments.
  • Microsoft certifications: PL-100, PL-200, PL-400, AI-102, or related credentials.

(Required or Preferred) Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or an IT related field

Desired Certification(s):

  • Microsoft certifications: PL-100, PL-200, PL-400, AI-102, or related credentials.

Salary and Benefit Information:

The likely salary range for this position is $124,000 - $150,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position and could fall outside of this range.

Application Deadline: September 14, 2026
