***Remote Opportunity***
Universal Technical Institute's Custom Training Group (CTG) is seeking an experienced Diesel Technical Instructor to deliver advanced workforce training to fleets, transit authorities, manufacturers, and transportation partners across North America.
This role is ideal for a highly skilled technician who enjoys sharing their expertise and helping professional technicians strengthen their diagnostic and technical skills.
CTG instructors lead hands-on training for working technicians in fleet, transit, automotive, and industrial environments. Training is delivered at client locations and UTI campuses nationwide, and the role involves extensive travelthroughout the year.
Our instructors work withnational fleets, municipal transit agencies, and global manufacturers, helping technicians build practical skills in diagnostics, maintenance, and emerging vehicle technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Inspire and Educate: Develop, plan, organize, communicate, and teach learning objectives in clear, concise manner through well-paced lessons ensuring appropriate classroom and lab content, independently and without supervision.
  • Hands-On Training:
    • Develop, prepare, maintain, and obtain training aids, tools, and equipment, in advance, for use in classroom and lab.
    • Test, evaluate, and communicate student/technician performance in a timely and accurate manner without specific direction, using proper documentation as per third-party and CTG guidelines.
  • Safety First: Actively supervise and hold students/technicians accountable in classroom and lab to ensure participation and motivation, while facilitating a neat, orderly, controlled, and safe learning environment.
  • Administrative:
    • Independently innovate and develop comprehensive, industry-aligned curriculum across multiple formats, including facilitator guides, student workbooks, service manuals, and dynamic online course materials that reflect the latest technological advancements.
    • Prepares weekly reports of activities
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Remote opportunity-candidate can live anywhere in the United States

Qualifications
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience:
    • 5 years' experience as a technician for third-party or fully qualified as an instructor for third-party.
    • ASE Master Diesel or Automotive plus L1 or L2 preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills that transform complex technical concepts into engaging, accessible learning experiences for diverse student populations, demonstrating adaptability and passion for educational excellence.
  • Computer Skills: Knowledge of MS Office, i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint and a variety of manufacturer programs
  • Must be able to clear MVR Background
  • Travel: 75%, including possible international travel
  • Must have a valid US Passport
