Job Summary

The open position is for a Sales Engineer covering the Northeast. The role emphasizes new business development with a true "hunter" mindset, while also focusing on maintaining and growing relationships with existing accounts. The territory includes New Jersey, New York (particularly Eastern NY), Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Maryland. This is a remote, home-office-based position requiring regular travel throughout the assigned region.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new business and drive sales growth in the assigned Northeast territory.
  • Maintain and expand relationships with existing direct OEM clients and distributors.
  • Network effectively with distributors and manufacturing clients.
  • Conduct client visits, presentations, and technical discussions related to linear motion products.
  • Travel within the territory (approximately 6+ nights/month in hotels; up to 2 weeks/month on the road).
  • Diligently use CRM systems for opportunity tracking, data entry, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with application engineers and business development team members.
  • Participate in training (initial 2–4 weeks, including time in HQ and potential Japan trips for high performers).

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in industrial automation sales, selling components or capital equipment to manufacturing clients.
  • Must have knowledge of balls screws and linear bearings
  • Proven "hunter" mentality—comfortable with proactive new business development.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and networking skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Excel (diligent with data entry and reporting).
  • Willingness and ability to travel (6+ nights/month in hotels; up to 2 weeks/month on the road).
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a company vehicle.

Preferred Requirements

  • Direct experience selling linear motion products (ball screws, linear bearings, actuators).
  • Related experience selling manufacturing components (e.g., bearings, motors, power transmission, fasteners).
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree (engineering or business preferred, but not strictly required).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $85,000–$105,000 (for 4–5 years relevant experience); up to $130,000 for highly experienced candidates (10–15+ years with strong industry network).
  • Guaranteed annual bonus
