The Hotel Lead Housekeeper position physically carries out as well as helps direct the activities of those involved in providing a variety of industrial housekeeping services.
This is a rotational position supporting the Qavartarvik Customer Lodge in Bethel, AK. The rotation schedule will be 4 weeks on and 4 weeks off. Lodging and three meals per day provided. The point of hire origins are Anchorage, AK & the YKHC Service Area.
Responsibilities
  • Performs all duties required of a housekeeper or other assigned employees.
  • Accountable for meeting all of the obligations required of assigned employees.
  • Help direct and guide assigned housekeeping and janitorial employees.
  • Help train new staff and provide ongoing training for existing staff.
  • Regularly conducts, replaces, and disperses assigned inventories.
  • Regularly conduct inspections to maintain the quality of provided services.
  • Coordinates associated equipment care and maintenance.
  • Help conduct safety meetings and ensure daily operations are in compliance with company and client safety requirements.
  • Make sure all quality standards and work procedures for staff are met.
  • Personally, resolves minor maintenance or client emergencies as they occur and/or takes steps to permanently address them.
  • Assist employees in the resolution of work-related difficulties.
  • Identifies, resolves, and/or appropriately reports site's safety hazards and utilizes appropriate emergency procedures
  • Assists in maintaining all required HazCom documentation.
  • Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success may also be assigned.
  • This position is responsible for supervising employees.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least one (1) year of directly related experience demonstrating knowledge of housekeeping duties and supervision of employees.
  • Basic computer skills using applicable software.
  • Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
  • Contract requires candidate to get a flu shot pre-hire and annually thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications
  • A valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NMS' vehicle insurance policy.
