Ameresco has an immediate opening for a DER Technician this is an entrylevel, position responsible for supporting the quoting, onboarding, and firstline technical support for PV and BESS using ASG's AssetPlanner platform.

This role combines basic technical troubleshooting, quote development, service request coordination, and handson support for hardware and software onboarding activities. The role is based in Waterbury, CT. Occasional travel may be required.

This position is well suited for candidates seeking to build experience in renewable energy systems, monitoring hardware, analytics platforms, and customerfacing technical support within a growing clean energy organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review design and construction drawings of proposed DER projects to determine monitoring hardware and software requirements.
  • Create quotes for data acquisition systems (DAS), meters, instrumentation, services and software for new and existing DER projects.
  • Prepare required documentation for projects including oneline diagrams, shop drawings, and other related documentation as required.
  • Work with business analysts to ensure that all quotes are submitted and tracked.
  • Review all inbound service requests in a timely manner
  • Perform initial triage and troubleshooting for DAS and software platform.
  • Route issues to appropriate team members or subject matter experts.
  • Assist with logistics, configuration, remote commissioning of new monitoring systems, and troubleshooting of existing data acquisition systems, and
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a STEM field (e.g., Engineering Technology, Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy, Information Systems) or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams).
Additional Qualifications:
  • Familiar with monitoring hardware, sensors, meters, or data acquisition systems.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, connectivity).
  • Experience reviewing technical drawings or electrical oneline diagrams.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $25.48 -$37.00 (presented in good faith). In addition to base pay, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off, and may be eligible for performance incentives, bonuses, commissions, or equity, depending on the role.

Actual pay will depend on factors such as internal equity, skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. This range supports our commitment to pay transparency and compliance with applicable laws. Compensation may vary by work location, including remote arrangements.
