IP Resident Engineer – 100% Remote (Anywhere in the USA)
Contract | January 2026 Start | W-2 | $57.14 – $60.71/hr (Pay Rate)
 

We are seeking an experienced IP Resident Engineer with direct, hands-on Nokia product experience (not just tools). This role supports a major NSA project and requires deep IP networking expertise along with strong customer-facing technical skills.

This is a fully remote role within the U.S. (Candidates must reside in the United States and pass a full background check + drug test.)

Role Overview

The IP Resident Engineer will work closely with the customer’s technical team to:

  • Design and develop advanced IP network architectures and services

  • Create and execute implementation and migration plans

  • Document node configurations and support testing across deployment stages

  • Troubleshoot complex routing, MPLS, QoS, and traffic engineering issues

  • Recommend optimizations for network performance, reliability, and availability

  • Collaborate with Nokia and customer teams to improve features, designs, and serviceability

Required Qualifications

✔ Previous Nokia experience is mandatory — direct hands-on experience with:

  • Nokia 7750 SR

  • 7250 IXR

  • 7705 SAR

  • 7210 SAS

  • SR Linux

  • NSP (Network Services Platform)

✔ Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or Computer Science
—or— 5+ years of equivalent practical networking experience

✔ IP Networking Expertise:

  • MPLS services

  • IGP (ISIS, OSPF)

  • BGP

  • Segment Routing

  • Traffic Engineering

✔ Troubleshooting & Configuration Expertise:
Routing protocols, MPLS, QoS, TE, IP services

✔ QoS Testing Experience:

  • Spirent

  • IXIA

✔ Modern Data Center Networking:

  • CLOS architectures

  • Underlay/Overlay designs
